@choppsuey hopefully approves of my Bali chocolate stout at Lola’s Tap
It appears the beer no one has been asking to return has in fact finally returned!
Available now at all horrible $hit hole bottle shops!
Probably the same full strength on tap that I saw in most pubs on my recent trip back to blighty ![]()

Home now though.
Just having an ‘ Imperial Oyster Stout’s from a Tassie brewery, Communion Helleryers Road.
A whopping 10% and very very tasty.
My god, I haven’t had one of them in at least 15 years.
Remember getting snuck them as an underage attendee at a mates deb ball, got absolutely written off (was also being snuck wine and some spirit someone brought in), and took 5-fa the next morning at junior cricket. Good times.
A couple of nice brews tonight. Welcome to the party is delicious if you like smoothie sours. And the long winter is a great Baltic porter.
Best I’ve imperial stout I’ve had for a while. It’s a ripper. Rides the line between a pure imperial stout and a pastry stout beautifully.
A tie dye spew I envisage.
Oh my, the old days of people pounding cruisers and spewing the rainbow.
I don’t know how you do it, Robin. Never have I tried and gone off a style faster than smoothie sour. I sorta liked a few at first, but knew I’d jumped the shark in record speed when I found myself drainpouring one which was supposed to taste like carrot cake. ![]()

I haven’t gone that far. Mrs close and friends love them. I don’t mind the odd one. I’m back on the imperial stout now fwiw.
Jesus H Christ. Looks like Frostbites circa 2000
Had it again when I was back in town recently. Great stuff. Also made it to Keeper Brewing and it was happy hour!
Nostalgia purchase. I drank a lot of these a couple of years back in San Fransisco, very rarely in stock anywhere in Australia. Had them shipped from Sydney for the modest price of $130 for two twelve packs.
Definite Guiness syndrome. Doesn’t taste the same away from it’s point of origin.
Still an acceptable drop. Got to love a German Mexican style.
