My annual stick pin on a racehorse in the Melbourne Cup field has arrived. And it stabbed #10 - Flatten The Curve. Seems a good name and travelled the world by what I read of him. Who knows if he’ll cope with that Charge of the Light Brigade down the Flemington straight on Tuesday.
Anyway, may the best horse on the day win, and they and their jockeys all come back afterwards safe and sound.

I think 2 horses in the MELB Cup for me;-
Top weight - Al Riffa - obvious class runner has earnt & can carry the 59KG + has the master Zahra on board. Watch the way he effortless won the Irish St Leger and has been competing against much better opposition than what he gets here
Bottom weight - Valiant King - powered home to win the Bart Cummings at track beating Torranzino who then franked the form by winning the Geelong Cup. Unlucky 3rd in Caulfield Cup, no weight and loves wet

I like Valiant King too - just don’t like the jockey on board but a great chance at that weight and especially if it rains.
And Al Riffa is now favourite after someone put a $500K bet on it for a $4 million dollar collect.
