Bloody hell I had this one marked too and must have had an issue, faded to last I reckon.

Backed Steparty for the place in R8 at Cranbourne.

Jigsaw/Zou Sensation quinella in R9.

Maybe Jasmin Rouge each way in R7, depending on odds.

Aside from an earlier bust on Ahha Ahha, that’ll be it for me today.

It was pretty bad.
Race ran pretty much how I thought, except my guy didn’t run over the top of them and win by four.

Used to be a big Jigsaw fan and would back it every start. Since I sacked it, it has won its past two starts at nice odds :man_facepalming:

Steparty also on my sack list as I have got no return on it for so long.
Barber and Starman who are running today round out my sackings haha

Solid selections overall!

I’ve backed Jigsaw a few times as well over the years, with mixed results. Missed him both times this time in though!

I keep looking at Cranbourne race 7 here. It’s only a BM80.
I originally thought with Willow on Mytemptation it’ll be hard to beat, but it’s almost half of what its opening price was, and I can’t touch it at that price. Backed it one time as a $2 favourite and it finished 6 lengths off the winner lol

Seems the more Stoli Bolli drifts, the more I’m drawn to it, even if it’s a cat.

I doubt Yaldi will win, it’ll run on late and miss as per normal…

Maybe Jasmin Rouge is the way to go at odds? Then when I start looking at value Herecomesthestar stands out at $19!!

Ahhh, if it’s this complicated it’s a clear watch haha.

What a waste of typing.

My thoughts today:

Cranbourne
R8 Sabaj $3.30 is the one I keep coming back to. I know it’s drawn wide, but I fee it has the engine to put them away. The way the track is playing though, Air Assault is the map horse. Going to be hard to beat. As for Steparty, is definitely worth the place.

R9 Need Some Luck $7.50. Yeah it had the race run to suit last start, but won very nicely. It’s great odds to play, but obviously Jigsaw scaresstrong text the ā– ā– ā– ā–  out of me, would hate to miss it again.

Kembla Grange
R7 Dragonstone $4.40 went close in this race last year and I think it near wins it today, despite the weight. ESPECIALLY since the late scratching of the favourite. It’s Barber in this one that I’m scared of.

Ascot
R6 Yonga Lass $7.00 is a great bet with Pike on, it’ll fly late and has the best in the business to drive it home. Asphalt $4.00 is the one to beat IMO.

R9 Watch Me Rock $3.00 is bloody short. But just stands out like dogs balls as the one to beat. Pike had the pick, and it’s exactly where we knew he’d be. Outside of this, Storyville $19.00 on the minimum weight lines up as a chance as from what I read recent history shows the winners have all been on the minimum weight… which is the ONLY horse in this race with 53kg.
Iownamerc is interesting but there is nothing that’s screaming back me as we don’t know if it runs the distance.. it’s had one try and didn’t place…. Western Empire, yeah maybe a few years ago, but it’s 8 years old now. Magnificent Andy at $31/$7.00 isn’t bad as value.

Sheesh, where the hell did that come from!

Stoli Bolli, thank Christ I learned my lesson a few starts back. Expected more from Jasmin Rouge.

I have a tiny share in a 2 year old, Shinsiena. Had three trials on won two but still a little green. Has a great temperament. Japanese sire (Maurice). Dam is Notre Dame out of Devine Madonna. She is a beautiful filly.

Kav has chucked her in the deep end and put her in the listed Merson Cooper Stakes tomorrow.

Hopefully she is competitive :crossed_fingers:

She did pretty well in a hot race dominated by the colts.

From gate 9, she missed the start by a length (plan was to try and lead) and found cover out the back.

Coming around the turn she wobbled a bit and got a couple of pumps. She got a nasty scratch on her back leg and also got a black eye, so obviously not small bumps.

She ran home pretty well and finished 3.7 lengths off them. Jock said she finished off well and was strong through the line.

Off to the paddock, small prep in autumn and then going to get her out to 1600 in the spring.

After much debate, am I mad for thinking Vivy Air @ $7.50 is the play?
