I backed it start of prep runs 2nd, gave it a chance, runs 2nd… one last roll of the dice, bloody 3rd!
Gave up after that but get FOMO seeing it in the field and have to resist.
You watch, the bastard will hit double figures one day and win in a canter, will make me furious!

Cracking multi!!

Classic example of Charlie Cameron - Put him in for a goal or 2 to give a multi a slight boost thinking it’s an easy leg, and he will roll you every time.
Don’t put him in your multi and I guarantee he’ll be revving that imaginary motorcycle all night

I’ve always found Charlie to be more than a little petulant.

I had a multi one night in a GWS match. Had GWS to win as underdogs, Josh Kelly Most Disposals and Toby Greene Most Goals. Juicy odds.

GWS were well ahead in the last quarter, Greene was 3 goals clear of any dangers and Josh Kelly was playing out of his skin, on 30 something disposals, well clear of any threats as was playing super all game.

Enter Lachie Whitfield.
Suddenly becomes a ball magnet in the final 3 minutes, getting in at every stoppage and then winding down the clock with dinky sideways kicks etc.

Ended on the same disposals as Josh Kelly, which caused a push.

Split my winning from $2,500 into $1,250.

Bitter sweet, but can’t complain. Much much much better than a $50 bonus back for a classic 1 leg fail

The Winx Stakes kicks off the first Group 1 of the season @ Randwick.

I’ll be watching a few with an eye towards the Spring. Many horses resuming, hard to get a gauge on where how forward they are at this time of year.

Wary of the Heavy 8 track.
Keeping an eye on whether there is any leaders bias on the tight track, if so, forget about many of the backmarkers…
