I missed an 11 legger yesterday thanks to Tom Lynch not kicking a goal.

Geez. I’m pretty sure I saw him take a mark about 30m out on a slight angle towards the end of the game. I didn’t watch him kick it but obviously missed.

He hit the post. :pleading_face::pleading_face::pleading_face:

Sux ass when that happens. I feel for ya.

Here is my ■■■■ up from the other night.

Nobody to blame but myself for yesterday.
I knew Sunrays, Taken and Joliestar were the ones to be on, but obstinately wasn’t on them.

Neither was I. Thats why I got 3 out of my 6.

Some juicy early odds for the Stradbroke.
Happy to have a small E/W on
Bosustow @20’s and Yellow Brick @ 40’s.

What are your upsets this week?

I haven’t looked just yet but gee that multi wasn’t all that far off in the end.

You couldn’t see the Hawks knocking off the Dogs, Wimm couldn’t see the Dees getting anywhere near the Pies.

P.S. I just had a look and meh, nothing really grabs me this week. Some that should just win and win quite easily (Cats, Freo) and then some others involving teams that are tough to get a read on. Perhaps the way Port Adelaide have been going where they put the cue in the rack after a decent performance then Melbourne are the play that you build around at $2.

I get distracted by how good teams play against us. And then overrate them.

Bulldogs are almost like front runners - absolutely punished us and Port.

But Hawks were better than I expected without Watson and Sicily.
The midfield really got it done. Meek in the ruck was important.

I thought Dees would go ok against pies, but not as close as that, they probably deserved to win.

North playing another home game in WA crazy.

West coast at home against the blues could be an upset,
I would have went crows over Hawks, but its in Tassie and they rarely lose there.

last 2 games crows in Tassie
23/4/23 - Crows won 3 points
25/4/21 - Hawks lost by 3 points

maybe they are a chance.

Dont ya love it when with 1minute to go both the afl and ladbroke apps say connor mcdonald has 15 disposals, only to find out 15 minutes later its actually apparently 14.
Fucjen rigged, if they print it they should have to pay it.

Happened to me once. I.was.not.happy.

Sandown

Not a meeting I want to be involved in. To be honest, the races throughout the Winter are always quite uninspiring.

Moving on, time to jot down some losers!

:point_right:Race 3 - Harry’s Yacht $13.00 [RESULT - 4TH]
Crunched in betting late last start in mid-May, did stuff all, ran 7/9. Does he deserve another chance? Probably not. But keep an eye on him.

:point_right:Race 4 - Flying Mikki $19.00 [RESULT - UNPLACED]
Not the worst horse going around in a field like this.

:point_right:Race 7 - Forgot You $11.00 [RESULT - 2ND LAST]
Have always had a lot of time for this horse. Sticks at the 1800m and third up from a spell should be fitter here.

Note: That’s 0/3 roughies @ Sandown, over to NSW.

Rosehill

:point_right:Race 1 - Crocodile $4.40 [RESULT - 3RD LAST]
Open race, do like the croc, but wary that either of the Chris Waller or Bjorn Baker get the chocolates here. Might find it hard to reel in the crocodile if things go his way.

:point_right:Race 4 - Carrazana $26.00 [RESULT - LAST]
Usually needs the run, but has had 3 trials in preparation for this and had 12 months away from the races. Won’t back him but will keep my eyes open for later in the prep.

:point_right:Race 7 - Snack Bar $3.00 / Starman $12.00 [RESULT - 2ND / UNPLACED]
Absolute last chance territory for Snack Bar beaten, went under @ $2.35 and $1.70 when backed as if unbeatable 2 and 3 races back. Probably drifts.
Starman is in the same boat. Followed him for a while and always, ALWAYS finds one better. Might be time to cut him loose.

Note: If you backed any of these you’d still be hunting down your first winner. Over to the ever corrupt QLD with the big races

Eagle Farm

:point_right:Race 1 - Just Party $3.00 / Pisces $6.00 [RESULT - UNPLACED / 2ND]
Tough one to kick off the day here, Tempted to back Just Party with Nash but boy oh boy it’s short in the market. It was hammered late a few weeks back before the meeting was eventually called off.
Feel like sticking with Pisces might be a better play at double the odds of the favourite. Does stretch out to 1600m which it’s 0/2 so doesn’t fill me with confidence.

:point_right:Race 2 - Demon Darb $3.80 [RESULT - 3RD LAST]
Find it hard to go against this guy. In ripping form and will be hard to beat.

:point_right:Race 4 - Damien $5.50 [RESULT - UNPLACED]
Should run a strong race and be thereabouts in the finish. Tommy Berry in the saddle this time. All signs point to a forward showing.

:point_right:Race 5 - Appin Girl $13.00 / I Am Unstoppable $11.00 [RESULT - 3RD / UNPLACED]
Considering sticking with Appin Girl after the embarrassment last start when strong in the market. I Am Unstoppable another at double figures who could be a strong chance with Maloney in the saddle. The favourite Need Some Luck appears far too short (Which probably translates to it being crunched harder, under $2.00 and trotting in by 94 lengths)

:point_right:Race 6 - Cool Archie $3.50 [RESULT - 1ST]
Because Archie, right? Appears to be building a nice picket fence.

:point_right:Race 7 - City of Lights $7.00 [RESULT - UNPLACED]
If Need Some Luck in Race 5 is $2.30 and this girl (Half sister to the mighty Winx) only got beaten a bees nut, followed by winning her next start by a bees nut, then I think it translates to a bit of a chance at odds here in the Dane Ripper Stakes!

:point_right:Race 8 - Rothfire $15.00 [RESULT - UNPLACED]
I’m going for the fairytale here. Absolutely loved this horse early days before the injury. They just never seem to return the same (Looking at you too, Giga Kick) and with JMAC riding, will give it every chance to take out the Group 1. Plenty of quality horses to beat though, just feel like they might try similar tactics here as last start and try pinch the race.

Note: Aaaaaaaand that’ll do for the day.

If you’re having a ■■■■ day and can’t catch a winner, jump on the Dons @ $5.75 and make the bookies even richer.

Gamble Responsibly

Many years ago when I was an apprentice, a wise old sparky said to me “Want a tip for when the races are at Sandown? Go fishing”.

I’ve never forgotten it.

I’m gonna get a lot of thirds again today, huh.

I like Ahha Ahha in R2 at Sandown, but odds are a bit short. Will wait to see if she drifts a touch before having a bet.
Having a spec e/w bet on another Clint McDonald runner at Bendigo: R2 No. 2 Dickens

Can’t jump off Cool Archie at Eagle Farm.
