Anyone do early betting on Melbourne cup?
I’ve got sir Delius / Delius going for about $13k now. Landed some multis with it at odds of $100, $80, $70 and final bets at $50. Into $11-15 with most bookies now so looking for suggestions on who to back.
It’s a bit of lottery but just love the race so usually bet early knowing that some horses won’t even get a start.

Yes, I dabble in futures. Usually doubles. Usually with bet returns/bonus bets. Just try to pick horses who are definitely targetting the race and are over odds.
At this stage I’ve got a few bob on Sir Delius and Relentless Voyager, both around 50/1.
And Yellow Brick @ 55/1 for the Epsom.
Eg. Brisbane Flag @ 8/1 in to Relentless Voyager @ 53/1. A $10 bonus bet gives return of 4k.
It’s bear ■■■■ in the woods territory, but I had some big collects on Gold Trip and WAF.
Gives me an interest and horses to follow.

Martin at $5 to be our leading Brownlow vote getter seems overs. Herald sun has him equal with Merrett at moment and if Merrett doesn’t get back to the midfield Martin may finish over the top of him. Martin also seems to catch the umps eye he had 15 votes last year.
