The concert and gig thread

Ended up getting tickets last minute to Lambrini Girls. A lot of fun.

Josh Groban at the SM Music Bowl tonight. Such a gorgeous voice. Gig was on the shorter side, just under two hours, but he had a good mix of songs, including a piano composition he wrote when he was 12.

Pulp was incredible last night, one of the best gigs I’ve been to. Jarvis was brilliant, what a night!

Great use of the projections for nightclub entry, sun gazing, trying to call mum etc

Who is his choreographer?

I saw them last year and had a great time. He’s as good a frontman now as he’s ever been.

We went to their free concert on Friday night here to open the Festival and they were fantastic. Was in danger of being called off due to Storms but thank they never arrived

I saw both Melbourne shows - they were ace.

I neglected to mention that Mrs dingus and myself saw them Tuesday.

Not the full band, but I did not feel the lack.

They are fkn brilliant live.

Had the full suite of vocalists with them opened with “Good Luck”. (for the benefit of LMW).

Worth every exorbitant dollar.

First time at the Palais foreshore last night for the streets. Really impressed with the venue. Loads of space, good sound and getting that bay breeze was nice.

I hate getting to St Kilda but it was worth it.

Mike Skinner has still got it too.

I was supposed to go with LMW as a Christmas present, but Mrs Wim bought Hilltop Hoods tickets on the same day.
I appreciate you telling me this, but it’s not actually good news.

The Essendon type.

Related to recently increased transport and related costs I guess

Not much info around yet.

On the horizon, is Big Red Bash. Unfortunately the site is under water and will not dry out in time. They are looking for alternative venues near Birdsville. With the fuel crisis as well, it may also be a casualty.

“Rising production, logistics, insurance and touring costs, combined with a challenging environment for major live events, mean it is no longer possible to deliver the festival to the standard our audiences, artists and partners expect.”

The statement said a liquidator had been appointed to manage all financial matters, and ticketholders would be contacted directly with information about the claims process and any potential refund arrangements.

Redd Kross and Hardons tonight. No matter what happens at the G - I’ll be happy!

Absolute scum, the promoters.

Should be rinsed by ASIC for trading while insolvent.

People won’t get tickets money back, let alone travel and accommodation costs.
