The concert and gig thread

I took my dad who has trouble walking and we parked perfectly in the top bar railing overlooking the crowd…great night. I feel like i’ve seen 3 different generations of fans get into them..was great seeing the younger crowd let loose in the front.

I was on the floor and close to the front at Massive Attack Melbourne, it was intense, but really good, not sure if it was enjoyable though. Left feeling bad for being a westerner. It was full on

Was in Darwin over the weekend. Caught Briggs playing in his new band BIG NOTER. Much fun had.

Then saw TISM play at the Ski Club. Magic location and just a really great performance.

Worth it.

NP were a lot of fun, and the lead guitarist (female) was just a powerhouse.

It’s at the croxton, which isn’t as nice as the Tote.

Boom Crash Opera tonight in Belgrave.
40 years since I snuck out on a school night to see them at The Corner. They always put in a good show. Might even go again in a couple of weeks and see them at that good old-fashioned beer-barn, the Burvale.

Gotta love the sooki lounge.

Cool little venue. Hadn’t been there before.
13 bucks for a light beer was a bit exxy, but I guess that’s probably the going rate these days…

It’s been kicking for over 25 years under various guises (a pool hall, a doof doof club that stayed open until midday, then a band venue) and under a few different names, but the vibe has always remained the same.

Bilmuri is the act that I cannot believe has enough of a following to warrant coming out here. I remember an old PT recommended the 400lb back squat record and I gave it a spin thinking it was a very odd mix of pop music with a significant djent influence. And he seems to have released a bunch of music since. I have to wonder if this has just been a case of fluke timing with bands like Spiritbox doing music with Poppy and Knocked loose with Denzel Curry.
