In memoriam. Australian Journalism. Judd Wept

She’s got a different, less political reporting job.
I don’t mind Steph her replacement, she’s good at picking the eyes out of events of the day.
And Ellen Fanning appears to have been given a wider role than having a chat with the girls on the Drum. Currently she is doing daily reporting on Robodebet, commercial TV and most daily MSM don’t seem to think it is newsworthy.

But everyone working at the ABC is either ALP, Greens or straight out communist.

I simply don’t know why the treat the LNP asthe real government just having a Bex, a cup of tea and a quiet lie-down.

Listening to those peckerheads just makes it obvious that they’re either very stupid, or quite evil in the thrall of the fascists in the MSM.

Some more brilliant stuff

Posted in another thread, but to note the paucity of MSM reporting on the Robodobet RC.
The Guardian did regular reporting, the Saturday Paper weekly analyses, the ABC a few cameos, the others close to zero.
At the closing session of the RC hearings, the Commissioner observed that twitter had provided a valuable service in informing the public while the MSM had been patchy.
The ABC continued to fill its TV news channel with repeats, when it could have covered some of the hearings.

Well, the ABC really can’t inform the public about the evil deeds of the Tories, can they?

They would be called out for being biassed against the Party of crooks.

The ABC will be having a laugh though at the Dominion case against Fox.
It got a rap over the knuckles by ACMA for breaching two of its own editorial standards on its program ‘Fox - the Big Lie” ( ACMA did not find it breached impartiality standards)

BBC head head honcho is eating humble pie after he suspended Gary Lineker from match day commentary.
He suspended Lineker for entering the political fray.
Lineker had tweeted that the Government’s new asylum seeker policies were like a throwback to Germany in the Thirties.
Most of the BBC weekend sport commentators downed tools in protest, leaving the BBC with about 20 minutes of sport broadcasts

It doesn’t gel with the population if they are denied their broadcast sports, no matter what they think of Lineker’s political views
Lineker has been re-instated and an apology issued

BBC boss is a Tory stooge, and impartiality only goes as far as “don’t bag the Tories, only Labour”.

It was a bad miscalculation, probably based on an assumption that many soccer fans would support restrictions on asylum seekers.
Even if they do ( which is plausible) sport comes first.

Lineker had previously tweeted anti-Corbyn sentiments and that went without punishment despite the BBCs famed „impartiality.“

The truth is that this backlash towards BBC over what they’ve done to Lineker just helps the Tory cause. They want to privatise it (see the ABC in Australia ) and in the meantime have been accusing it of left-wing bias while stacking its senior management with Tories and sycophants.

The backlash, well-deserved as it is, will ultimately be another arrow in the quiver for the cause of Tory privatisation

Lineker did get a hit from a prominent Israeli for posting a pic of Palestinian kids in a cage…
He didn’t suffer the same fate as Corbyn who was denounced as an anti Semite.

That’s fairly much right - In effect the Palestinians live in a cage.

Sky is very, very funny.
Coincidentally, Paul Murray, Chris Kenny, and Rita Panahi are excellent names for stand up comedians.

There will only ever be one Rita…

Because that would totally justify assassinating a teenage girl…

The National Library has posted the twitter reporting on Robodebt RC hearings on its news archives - more of them than MSM reporting on the RC hearings.
What Commissioner Holmes said.
