Konstas being sent home to play Sheffield Shield.
Makes a lot of sense really
The bigger picture with Lalor is that millions of not tens of millions would have similar posted on their X or Instagram or similar. if everyone took the SEN then there would be millions more out of work. For some unknown reason many in the world want to be angry about the smallest things. The world has gone crazy.
giggles, imagining saying, āHey, India! You ONLY managed to draw the series the last two times you toured, ya bunch of losers.ā
How unfortunate then that English batters will have to face one of the all time great bowling attacks on their home grounds. Even our fourth front line pace bowler in Boland made mincemeat of your top order last time, causing no end of nightmares about facing up at the MCG.
You completely missed my point, but thatās cool
Also Boland in the last ashes was a complete non entity. He is however a much better bowler in his home conditions
The curious case of Scott Bolond. Was the best bowler in the WTC final but really struggled to deal with what was clearly a very deliberate plan from the Poms to put pressure on him on flat wickets in the Ashes. Seems better for the experience, in the way he handled a similar attempted plan from the Indians this summer, albeit on much more helpful surfaces.
It was really bizarre. Both he and Anderson in English conditions you would expect to be lethal, but they were both ineffective cannon fodder
I expected them both to be the leading wickets takers for their sides that series
The key point is in your first sentenceā¦ āin English conditionsā
They donāt prepare/play on traditional English surfaces anymore because itās so counter to the way they want to play. Flat, easy paced onto the bat, crash through the line. Bazball finished of Andersonās career (much as it was coming to itās natural end anyway).
Yep - letās turn test cricket into long form T20ā¦
Bazball didnāt finish Anderson career at all, management decided to end it for him as we had to move on and start planning for the future. Had zero did to do with āBazballā
Our batters did just fine in NZ where the pitches had quite a lot of movement
Some English pitches are flat, some still have heaps of movement
In terms of Anderson- Rob key was speaking about this on Nasser and Athertonās podcast, as to the makeup they want their bowling attack to have. They want one older experienced player to lead the attack for year, and they didnāt want to put all their eggs into the Anderson basket because they didnāt know if he could keep going on at his age- and they didnāt want him to just decide to retire one day and they had no backup ready
Funny when your best player plays that same sort of style, and your new opener who everyone is blowing their loads over plays that same style
I donāt mind the players taking it on. My point was that we shouldnāt serve up flat pitches to skew results towards a T20 style. If Australia loads up with T20 style bats and then rolls out flat tracks to accommodate them, Iāll criticise that.
Doubt there is any truth to it but some talk that Marnus has been told he is missing out with Connolly to debut
I wouldnāt be against that. He needs a massive rocket because for about 3 years heās been poor. His output has essentially halved after his first 30 Tests:
First 30 Tests - 61 ave
Next 20-odd Tests - 31 ave
If you move Smith up to 3, Inglis 4, Webster 5 and Connolly 6, that would be worth a shot. Or pick McSweeney at 5, Webster 6. Better than continuing to persist with an out of form #3ā¦
Cummins out of the Champions Trophy and Hazlewood also in doubt. Sangha, Abbott and Spencer Johnson all in the mix now.
Mitch Marsh is also officially out from the squad too with injury.
Hardie and Stoinis also battling injury hampering their chances of being able to bowl so apparently Beau Webster is a big chance to come into the frame now.
Whatās up with cummins? Is it still his ankle?
Baby duties
I donāt even know what the Champions Trophy is.
EDIT:
So we send Konstas home then debut some other kid? We couldnāt put him at 3? Donāt think itās legit.
Yeah his ankle. He still hasnāt even been able to train at all since.
