Left arm finger spin rules the world…
I’d stick with Murphy personally.

Yeah, I’d give Murphy another go.
I’m keen to see if this pitch plays like expected. Opinions seem divided amongst the players on how much it will turn
Interesting…
Sundaresan and Collins reckon it’s minimum 3 days over cooked and baking in the sun again today.
I’m sure it’ll go square from very early on, as that’s exactly what they’ll want it to do.
For a new pitch that isn’t ideal
Entirely predictable though…
We’re 100% going to lose the toss and get smoked batting last.
Cooper Connolly presented with his Australian cap.
The curators indicated to the players that it was this first game to be played on this pitch and all the others in the square had been previously used. Ball might be rolling along the ground on day 1
SL win toss, batting first.
Connolly in for Murphy.
Confirmed
I’m excited to see the young man play. The talent is bubbling up! Go aussies
If Connolly can have half the test career of the last batsmen who debuted as a spinner batting at 8 for Australia it will be a decent career - because Steve Smith does ok.
Very dry pitch. Expect an accelerated test according to the commentators on SEN
Marnus must have some pretty good pictures for him to continue to be selected…
I’m all for playing some fresh blood and I know the selectors want some adaptability but I’m never keen on giving blokes a game or two and then not seeing them again for an eternity
Our attack looked like it had far more bite than theirs in the last test, I don’t think the pitch was a road for 2 days and then was a monster.
All the talk is that this pitch is going to be very dry and I expect that even in the SL first innings batting first, our attack will give them lots of trouble. A lot will depend on us being able to build some kind of decent lead on them batting 2nd (hopefully mid to late on day 1) on day 2.
I still think that visiting sides should have the choice to bat or bowl. I then expect grounds will do their very best to produce the best balanced pitches that they can.
SL have won the toss and are batting… again.
We won the toss and batted first last test
No rain forecast over the 5 days - as if this test will make day 5. Given that only 9 sessions were needed for the first test, it would seem a real chance that no more than 9 sessions will be needed for this one.
Picked 3 specialist bowlers. Can’t say I’m a fan of that…
