Not that it helped him. Out a few balls later.
No idea what Green was trying to do there.
Ok, he didnāt have to play at that , especially considering the state of the game. Stupid
Great footwork.
He had to give that not-out. An almost identical situation to the Chase not-out about 6 hours ago.
Maybe soft hands might be appropriate till the close?
Thereās going to be growing pains and these arenāt easy batting conditions but itās a bit flattening that none of Konstas, Inglis or Green put a score on the board across their 6 innings.
Itās not an easy pitch to bat on. The number of players who have been bowled is quite high , which tells you that techniques are lacking a bit, but also that the pitch is offering a lot of movement. Itās also cutting up the ball, weāve seen quite a few ball changes for a match where no innings has reached 65 overs.
Lovely to wake up and watch cricket in the morning it must be said
Greenās technique for a number 3 is a concern, no footwork and flashing at short balls outside off.
Be careful IT, youāre going to get a whack from the Green cheer squad in here.
Iām still not convinced he should be in the team if he canāt bowl. I know that thereās nobody demanding a spot, but I think heās a chronic under-performer.
Does he have a cheer squad? He hasnāt achieved anything yet but shown promise a few years ago in the all rounder batting slot. That is a heap different to batting at 3 in difficult conditions.
Credit to green he did the right stuff in his short county stint but he has played a fair bit of test cricket and heās still a maybe guy. Would like to see his stats v marsh after the same amount of tests, I donāt think green would be light years ahead
England sitting back and laughing.
The selectors/coach had a chance to blood new opener 2 years ago but they kept Davey and now the ashes are close. You reap what you sew.
I heard Warner would be willing to come back if the selectors issue an SOS. Believes he couldāve feasted this year and even captained.
Very true. Shows how bad Shield cricket is if heās averaging above 50.
Scores since moving up the order in 6 tests (with 3 against the Windies, 2 NZ and 1 SA).
14,8,42,174,34, 4, 0, 3,15
Ave. 32.6 (Take out the 174 and heās average is 15.0).
Changing the ball after 28 overs.
Kudos to the guy wearing the old Aussie World Cup top there. Great strip
Thereās a whole generation of uncapped Australian batsmen that must bemoan that they werenāt born 20-30 years later. Siddons, Divenuto, etc.
