That England attack was pretty good tbh( young but good)

Hoggard
Jones
Flintoff
Harmison

One of the best innings I have ever seen from a batter. Not just the runs scored, but the shots and ease at which he did it

Straight through to the keeper!

Good on Mulder for declaring and letting Lara keep the record. Class act

The bloke’s test average went from 26 to 38 on the back of one innings lol.

After 34 innings that is a crazy jump from a single knock.

Yep good on Mulder for that, could have easily got the record the way he was going

On a side note, it’s a myth Tubby declared on 334* because of Don’s record, talks about it here

Mulder explained his decision to the former South Africa captain Shaun Pollock on Supersport. “I thought we had enough and we need to bowl,” he said. “Secondly, Brian Lara is a legend, let’s be real. He got 401, or whatever it was, against England. For someone of that stature to keep that record is pretty special.

"I think if I get the chance again, I would probably do the same thing. Speaking to coach Shukri Conrad [Shuks], he kinda said to me as well: ‘Listen, let the legends keep the really big scores.’

"You never know what’s my fate, or what is destined for me, but I think Brian Lara keeping that record is exactly the way it should be.”

Yep, I’ll give him credit for that, great attitude

367 still puts him in the top 5 all time.

Lara 400, Hayden 380, Lara 375, Jayawardne 374, Mulder 367.

And it’s the highest ever test score by a player away from home.

Didn’t Hayden’s 380 come against Zimbabwe.
And Lara’s against England?

Should we count big scores against the minnows?

Further to this, Mulder averaged just 22 before this series.

After 31 innings.

LMAO.

And the bulk of those were against Bangladesh, West Indies or Sri Lanka.

So normally he’s putrid.

3 innings later after feasting on the Zimbo’s it’s up to 38.

He averages 18 against non Bangladesh or Zimbabwe test sides.

That 18 includes his decent numbers vs WI.

Well I’ll be the odd one out then. Scully should have broken it.

Young Brian Lara didn’t give a fck about letting a legend like Sobers keep the record when he broke Sobers 30+ year total. Who gives a fck.

Scully being an absolute crab batting against termites just makes it funny.

NZ playing two tests against them next. Williamson not going, but otherwise a strong squad going, so the record could be under threat yet

WTF is a Scully?

Main characters of the X Files,

I’m lost. What the hell does Scully or the X Files have to do with price of fish.

Main characters in X Files were Mulder and Scully
