He’s also worth about 10 or 15 runs a day in the field. A great fielder.
NSW fast bowler Ross Pawson stood down by Blues as police investigate alleged ‘sexual touching’
By Sam Worthington-1 hour ago
NSW fast bowler Ross Pawson is reportedly being investigated by police over allegations of sexual touching.
Pawson played in NSW’s last Sheffield Shield match against Queensland at the SCG this month but has now been stood down by the Blues.
“After being made aware of a serious complaint, the Cricket NSW Board determined to permanently cancel a player’s registration effective immediately,” a Cricket NSW spokesperson told Wide World of Sports, while not naming Pawson.
A State Crime Command spokesperson provided a statement to The Sydney Morning Herald.

“As a result, he is suspended indefinitely from involvement in all cricket related matters. We cannot comment further on this matter while investigations are ongoing.”
The Herald reports Pawson was suspended following an emergency meeting of the Cricket NSW board, “called to discuss allegations that he also sent unsolicited and inappropriate naked photos of himself to young cricketers.”

“On Wednesday 10 December 2025, police were made aware of allegations of sexual touching against a 31-year-old man,” it read.
“Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad have commenced an investigation and inquiries are continuing.”
The incidents relate to young cricketers at Pawson’s Sydney club Northern District.

Pawson made his first class debut for NSW in February and also played for the Sydney Thunder BBL team in 2023.
Pawson’s LinkedIn profile states he is also the head of athletic development at St Augustine’s College in Brookvale.
Ew.
Went into the city for lunch with the wife and the Poms are everywhere, hundreds of them floating around the CBD. There is an Ashes party tonight and today is an absolutely gorgeous 29 degree day and they look to be suffering already. One albino looking bloke in a Leeds Rhino jersey looked to be wilting in the sun and as I walked past there was some friendly banter and I said “Chin up guvner it’s going to be 40 on Thursday now!
He replied with a “how the ■■■■ do you ■■■■■ live here” ![]()
Looks like Thursday is the only real bad one with various forecasts putting it between 38-40 with tomorrow and Friday 34. A bit cooler on Saturday and perhaps even some rain if we get to Sunday
Ross Paws On.
Smith was first one in the nets today and batted the longest
Of course he was.
He probably couldn’t sleep he was so upset he didn’t get a nets session yesterday.
It’s actually kind of impressive how dominant he has been (and for now about a decade) and he still loves batting as much as he does.
Green is overrated IMHO. His top score in Australia is 84 (I think) and he averages under 30 here, too. I think he’s embarrassed by his non-shot to get out in Brisbane. He needs a vast improvement if he’s going to be an ‘allrounder’ and bat in the top order!
I saw one reference to Green’s dismissal as it looking like he was trying to squash a spider with his bat. Overrated? Or just not living up to the expectations. Is there a difference?
So the Smitb hand signal to Joffra apparently meant ‘take a rest’, and is somehow a reasonably understood gesture amongst some state cricketers. According to Jake Weatherald in some article that popped up on my computer. Who knew?
Baz banned formal meetings three years ago…
What a fkn bunch of babies.
How many could identify most of a long list of their bats (I think there were over 20?), blindfolded, just by feel? Guy is a batting nerd.
Green’s doing alright.
Of his Tests this year, he had two bad ones. The Test Championship and the first test against the Windies.
Since then he’s scored 26, 52, 46, 42, 24 and 45.
Not exactly Khawaja numbers.
He’s been ok or slightly better than ok.
Would love to see a century or more 50s from Boy Wonder™. Good players influence tests.
No doubt. I’d like to see a big innings from him. We want him to step up.
Would love to see it. A big 100 and step up to win us a test (which he has done on too few occasions - maybe twice with the bat). It’s overdue
The most sensible team selection possible. Usman should not be thinking it is his right to walk back into the line up. His results don’t support a recall and his form has dropped right off.
He (Green) is still yet to score a test century on home soil. He’s definitely talented and I am pretty certain he has another gear or two left to shift up to but yeah, you’d love to see it happen pretty soon. Go from handy to genuinely elite. I’m a believer he’ll get there.
To steal from the thread title, I’ve been champing for the last few days. I have three days off.
Maybe um…don’t take my posts too seriously over that time (if indeed you were ever foolish enough to do that).
Laughed at Husseys “what’s changed?”
Well Mike, decent opening partnerships for one.
