How did they lose that?! Thats twice in the last couple of weeks - first the MotoGP and now the Shield. ouch.
The shocking umpiring decision to give Sam Elliot out probably hurt abit. Both batsmen were settled at the time and the first innings margin couldâve much higher.
We had them at 5/81 in the second dig, should have gone on from there.
We gonna talk about whatever the fark Sam Harper was doing in the 1st innings?
Was Michael Voss coaching Vic?
Sam Konstas and Cooper Connolly have not had their central contracts with Cricket Australia renewed. Also cut off the list are Usman Khawaja (retired), Glenn Maxwell, Lance Morris, Jhye Richardson and Matt Short.
Cricket Australia contract list: Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Cameron Green, Mitchell Starc, Steve Smith, Alex Carey, Beau Webster, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitchell Marsh, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland, Michael Neser, Brendan Doggett, Adam Zampa, Nathan Ellis, Josh Inglis, Jake Weatherald, Matt Kuhnemann, Todd Murphy, Xavier Bartlett.
Cam Green has gone 18, 2 and 4 in his first three games at this IPL and hasnât been bowling due to more lower back issues.
Still getting paid, though, right?
Yep. 4 million dollars for 5-6 weeks. Pretty good position to be in! Heâs the one laughing.
I am also having a sensible chuckle.
And Steven Peter Devereux Smith goes unsold. Crazy world.
I know who Iâd have batting for my life.
Itâs not even close.
Smith has played plenty of IPL and was almost as disappointing as Green.
Yeah, Smith was rubbish at T20 for a while there. His form recently when heâs had a chance has been anything but. We know his class.
I guess the point I was trying to make that there isnât a 4 million dollar gap between the two.
Would you pick Green before Smith if selecting a team?
Really!?
Now thereâs a lot of cricket mad people like myself that regularly contribute in this thread⌠is the IPL really âone of the greatest sporting phenomenons in the worldâ?
I think I could tell you one team name and thatâs about it. No interest in who plays for who, results etc I wouldnât even know.
Now I know some others will disagree but try and convince me that 99% of Australians donât feel differently?
For a country where cricket is arguably our number one national sport, wouldnât interest in IPL be greater if itâs such a âsporting phenomenonâ?
Such a dumb and typically Indian-centric statement.
Harsha has become a BCCI puppet. Itâs sad as he was once a great commentator.
The last two IPL games have come down to the final ball. I suspect Harsha is getting a bit over excited as a result.
I agree. In saying that the time zone makes it virtually impossible to follow from Australia unless you like watching replays
No because Smith would have to open and thereâs better options to open. Green who could bat lower and bowl a bit offers more flexibility. But l wouldnât pay Green more than an average IPLer would earn.
No worse than the Americans calling their baseball finals a âWorld Seriesâ.
Bull-â â â â is everywhere.
I watched a lot of the first season of it. It was cool to see the best players playing together and against each other. But the novelty wore off pretty quickly for me
I havenât really kept up to date with it since, except for some injury news
From everything i keep hearing, the majority of the pitches are absolute roads- so itâs never even close to a contest between bat and ball
I love T20 international cricket, but the IPL does absolutely zilch for me.Same goes for the BBL now
