The Cricket Thread (part 9) - from Dec 2024

Just quietly, the future of Test cricket probably hinges on Australia / India / England showdowns.

Hopefully CA recognise what is happening and actually prioritise Tests both in programming and the supporting first class system.

The nation’s sporting capital deserved this spectacle. Great game, great crowds, great result.

How bloody good is test cricket!

Driving back from Melbourne to Sydney listening to it on the radio. When we left my in laws they were 3 for. My wife drove for the middle session and couldn’t get us a breakthrough. We switched up in Avenel and within 5 minutes Head had Pant! The next 2 hours was a very pleasant drive. Currently in Albury Dan Murphy’s getting some celebratory drinks for tonight’s stop over!

Maybe Cummins? Critical runs in both innings, key wickets in both.

Yeah could be him
6 wickets and 90 runs

Or Boland?
6 wickets and faced 100 balls to be not out twice! :joy:

And affected the run out which changed the entire complexion of the game.

MOTM for me is Pat. 6 wickets plus 90 runs, a fine all-round game.
