Interesting evening.
Vaughan for Bell or Strauss (who become 12th man).
Freddie for Harmison.
Aus win toss and will bowl to start this Ashes series.
Each white ball game is worth 2 points, the test worth 4. Australia retained The Ashes in England, tying the series 8-8.
Surprised they had no Flintoff, but then again his numbers probably donât stack up, he had a few great series with some very high peaks but a lot of downs in there too. Injuries and consistency hurt him, but obviously had an all time great 2005 Ashes. Youâd love to find a spot in the 11 for him, but you couldnât replace Stokes for him. Not sure Trott warrants the number 12 despite a few great seasons.
I would go Trott over Bell. And Flintoff over stokes. They both had higher peaks than the other two. Stokes is the better batter, but Flintoff is the better bowler
Damn good side though. Every base is covered with that side
This is going to be a wasted review by Australia.
Ok much closer than I expected. Remains not out but review retained.
Big wicket!
Knight caught in the deep by Perry trying to slog sweep. England 3/92 off 19.1.
I was surprised to see that Flintoff only made 5 centuriesâŚ
And Sciver-Brunt out the same way! 4/95 off 21.1, Australia on the charge.
Absolutely cracking day for cricket. Sitting on the hill amongst an amazing crowd here at North Sydney Oval. Itâs fantastic that womenâs cricket has captured the publicâs attention so well.
Our daughters have already dominated. They won a signed bat at the first drinks break by naming more chocolate bars in 30 seconds on the big screen than Elyse Perry could name!
Jones just threw that away.
Itâs a beautiful ground.
Australia in a strong spot here but Ecclestone is going to be a mighty handful to face on this pitch.
England 7/170 after 37 overs.
Gotta say that Australia should be quite happy to be chasing 205 on this. Itâs not in the bag, but I would rather be in Australiaâs position rather than England.
Sure is a great ground. Feel very privileged that we live within walking distance.
Expecting the Aussies to knock these runs over in 35 overs if they bat well.
And I get a wicket next ball with my comment
Iâm not Captain Womenâs Cricket, but that score on that ground seems Low.
Decent ball that one. Litchfield didnât do much wrong.
