All the best for your boy @megz hope all goes well for him.

Keep us informed on his progress.

What is his name ?

All the best to your lovely boy, he will be more comfortable again after a short time, big pats and cuddles.
My little boy is in a bad way at present, still on a drip etc at the vets. They break our hearts.

Thinking of you @megz & your beautiful boy.
I’ve seen lots of great outcomes for dogs who’ve had to lose a leg. They seem to cope really well and importantly it can stop the spread and be pain free.
Keep us in the loop.

So sorry to hear this @Bessie .
Fingers crossed for a good recovery. Yes, it’s heartbreaking.

Currently resting at home, on vet instructions to sleep inside (they’re usually outside at night). Was very doped up yesterday but was happy to eat this morning. It’s all still a bit overwhelming and the kids are freaked out by it (more the huge shaved patch rather then the wound) but I think it will get better.

Little dog came home today, been a big battle for him, on lotsa meds, but he is eating again. He just stopped eating before and after big emergency dental procedure. Happy to be home, kitty locked away in a bedroom when his meal times now, she just sits and stares at him when he eats and it does his head in. I am also a lot poorer$. Hope all is going ok with your boy Meg’s.

Good news @megz and @Bessie hope both your boys continue on the road to recovery.

edit: yep @Bessie vet bills are very expensive, but what can you do apart from pay up. I don’t know what private insurance for our pets costs or whether it’s worth while.

How is your boy recovering @megz?

Seems mostly back to his normal self. Loving sleeping inside (and his brother is too!) and you can see him thinking about how to lay down and it takes him a little while to figure it out.

Great to know he is doing ok.

I am babysitting my sister’s puppy. My dog and the puppy have been playing for hours and hours, and this the end result.

They are absolutely exhausted.

Which one is yours? Is the white one a Westie?

The one on the couch is mine. They are both Cairn Terriers.

My little Boy…papillon x corgi….picture that, started to recover from dental extraction disaster, went back to vet hospital, came home …next day Kennel Cough, has been on seven different meds, syringe fed, through the day, but usually has been getting enough energy and alertness to eat some cooked lamb at night. All been so up and down, k cough was the last straw. But we are
Fighting on.

That’s great @Bessie, had the vet come to the house a few days ago to drop off some medication for Pepa who also has kennel cough.

The vet said kennel cough is running rampant in the canine community at the moment.
