no doubt this will get canned, as a reactionary thread to loss (well that'll be what it's seen as anyway)

 

I'm curious to know how sweeping away non starting 22 players (bar davey) is actually going to improve our list ?

Moreso this year but none of those players have really been a starting 22 player, so getting rid of them isn't IMO going to stop the end of season fade outs of 22 regulars.

 

Maybe some hard honest evalutation of our midfield needs to happen, and one to two of the starting midfield group need to be moved on.

Hopefully we can keep Crameri away from the dogs, if not then we could be in a real trouble.

We need some decent cover for Dempsey and Winders. Yarran and maybe Duigan for Gumby. I still think we’re very solid inside but we need the run…and Duigan imo is a useful utility who might give us a couple of good seasons, again as cover.

I dunno, the scum seem to think they need a player just like Gumby, and MM seems to be over the mosquito squad and doesn't rate Duigan.

  As has been stated by the intelligent on this site  we STILl NEED ANOTHER INSIDE MID.......the days of the small forward are over you need half forwards who can rotate thru the middle thus having 10+ 14 mids in your team...two maybe 3 tspecialist at each end  at each end and your rucks...

 

 

 Its a matter of getting people who you think will be an upgrade of whats already there!

gumby, hille, fletcher,davey and jetta all gonski(either by retirement or delisted/trade). A cleanout should happen, some of the cargo that has been on the list for a while and not preforming, week in and week out, has to go. Performances like today and the past few weeks, hell even years, needs to be worked on.

Duigan? Come of it. A medium sized defender with poor disposal and decision making? Why in million years would you even consider him to be something we need?

From the senior list, you'd think Davis is gone. Has been on our list for a while, and hasn't show anything extraordinary. Yet to play a snr game.

 

Gumbleton? If trading him off can get us a speedy midfielder or small fwd, I think coaches would be tempted to do it. Hasn't shown enough this year IMO, and with Daniher coming through, it'll be hard for him to get a game.

 

Jetta? Surely gone now. Given enough games this year. Has not performed to his expectations except that last qtr against Hawks.

 

Hille and NLM to retire. Sadly, I also think Fletch will hang the boots. Davey: delist/retire. Not up to it.

 

Sign up Pears, T-Bell and Crameri. Very valuable for our team.

 

From the rookies: I'm expecting Hunter to be delisted. Cory Del is an interesting one. I'll give him another year.

From reports, I'll also give Steinberg and Dalgleish another chance too.

i dont think there would be much currency around for Gumby, Dell should stay Davey gone which is a shame but alas the game caught up to him. Gees would like Fletch to stay maybe as a player backline coach ?

My 2c is Gumby will almost certainly leave. Hille, NLM will likely retire and I don’t see Davis staying on the list. For Jetta to leave, it must be via trade, he’s contracted next season. I don’t see the value in delisting Davey, we are very light on for small forwards so let’s delist one of the few we currently have? Dell is too slow for someone his size so he’s struggling to retain his place on the list. Of the rookies, I’d get rid of them all bar Dalgleish who shows a bit. Hopefully he can improve and give some half back support to Dempsey & Hibberd, I’d love to be able to play one of those guys in the midfield permanently.

Midfield is not good enough, heppel will continue to improve but needs mor inside help and class on the outside…zaka and Melksham need to step up more…defence is good but need the midfield to push back and help…which has stopped happening…Dempsey should play through the midfield and winders off half back…forward line is a serious mess…there are no quality drumming forwards on our list…no goal kicking half forwards who can pinch hit in the midfield and without daniher and an inform crameri we have no tall options capable of taking a mark…this is the area that requires the most work…and last year we recruited a bunch of no name hacks that won’t improve our list and have seen o’brien, Kav, Browne stall badly in there development…
