The fixture is in - 2022

*based on somebody else’s opinion

At the end of the day I hope we bring it and beat those teams

Exactly, if we are good enough we will. Blaming the draw is blaming things the club can’t control, stop playing the victim

That’s a very big assumption by the H-Scum. The Richmond list isn’t getting any younger.

I started reading from when the draw was first listed in this thread.
Nino was so excited and loved the draw.
I skipped a whole bunch of it and got to near the end:
Nino is upset at the AFL for a terrible draw.

Dude, you really ride your emotions on things.

Based purely off the fixtures there I’d be pretty delighted with a repeat finish of last season and another year of games into the young ones.

Very early to say obviously, but seems a tough run.

Ch7 news saying bulldogs are big ‘winners’ Richmond ‘losers’ based on their prime time exposure. I suggest this is a fair assessment. Big exposure games builds clubs up.

Travelling is a huge issue and we have a good travel schedule.

Carlton Facing one 2021 finalist once means nothing. The top 8 is never the same year in year out. Melb in 2020 didn’t play finals and were unbeatable in 2021, so getting them twice last year was a false benefit. Collingwood played finals in 2020 but were a basket case last year. We even beat them twice!!!

I suggest playing Essendon after the kids grow muscles and gain endurance, and another year of coaching cohesion will be bad for everyone playing us.

We could easily be 2-1 and 6-2. I reckon top 6 is achievable based on expected improvement and fair interstate travel.

Bring on 2022!!

I was on here earlier and you were gushing how good our draw was??? Because the Herald Sun say it’s the 2nd hardest now you are throwing the toys out of the cot?

Rapt that we play good sides early, as they typically start a bit slower IMO - good to get those games out of the way. Fingers crossed we have a healthy list to start the season and blokes like Walla are fit and ready to go by round one.

The double ups are rough, though. Hopefully we don’t cop too many 6 day breaks, especially coming back from interstate, as I find that can be a real challenge for younger sides like ours.

Overall, who the hell knows. I’m just pumped for footy to be back in Vic. :muscle:t2:

Has this been shown here?

Not one fox or sen or herald sun ‘football expert’ picked Melb for the flag last year.

The same experts that rate the fixture.

The same experts that forecast the past

Enough said.

I have never concerned myself with fixtures. All I know is you have to beat Top 8, Top 4 and probably Top 2 Teams when you play finals with the goal being to win a flag.

Making finals because you had an easy draw is fools gold.

Wow so our Carlton game is the game we’re selecting to celebrate our 150th year.

I’m usually anxious before a Carlton game, may as well triple the anxiety now :joy:

(I’m happy with the fixture though)

Expect a bog average Carlton to embarrass us again under the biggest possible spotlight.

I was gushing about playing 8 games in a row in Melbourne

Win the ball, kick to Carltons spare and because our forward half pressure is crapolla Carlton are able to rebound and score

I don’t mind it.

The draw may be difficult. But then again, it’s hard to tell. No one predicted Swans/Port/Dees to be as strong as they were in the 2021 season. Nor Tigers and Pies to be so poor.

But if we genuinely want to make an impact in finals, we need to beat those clubs anyway. If we can’t do that and miss finals, then we go to the draft and get more talent in. And out draft hand next year is pretty strong with 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounders available.

I’m just rapt that we have such a great run of games in Melbourne and games at the G. I was super critical of the club for the way they handled our fixture rescheduling last season, but it seems they’ve definitely had some influence now.

we played our first ever game against Carlton so its great we have them for our 150th.

also its amazing no travel for 8 weeks. we could be a settled hopefully successful side then before we have to hit the road later in the year.

the Dees at the G on Friday night footy is going to be great.

really stoked with our first three games. 1. the cats on a Saturday arvo(please be sunny) at the G, 2. a hostile reception to the big rat and then 3 Friday night lights against the best side in the comp.

and all three will be red hot contests against really good outfits.
