If you want cheap noise cancelling for streaming music, a pair of over ear (the type that fully encloses your ear) will do. $50 for a sennheiser will do it.

@barnz is right on the money with this -
If you want them for flying then Bose are still the best.

Otherwise check out these - especially if you have any degree of hearing loss

I have had Sony and then a few years later after I lost them on a plane, bought a later model Bose.

Sony was much much better for noise cancelling.

The Bose’ wiring fell apart about a week after the warranty expired, so get constant static crackling. Would never buy that brand again.

I got Bose QC35 which are expensive at $500 rrp, but probably as low as $350 if you follow the right forums for deals.

I fly a lot for work, and do a lot of telecons and use them every day.

Hands down, the best Puchase of a ‘luxury’ item I’ve ever bought. Ever.

@Albert if you take them back to Bose, they’re just as likely to replace, no questions asked. Have heard nothing but positive news on their customer service.

That looks amazing but a little out of my price range.

my head says Beats are bad, but my heart says that Dre 2001 will stay with me forever, buy the poxxy headphones…

we’re not all earning smythy-esque +super salaries around here…

Follow Joe Hockey’s advice and get a better-paying job.

LMW’s back window on Lily, her little Mazda 2, got caved in by someone mowing their nature strip.

Call Windscreens O’Brien, who we’ve previously had good dealings with, said March 17, two hours work, $740.
Bugger, that’s no good.
We’ll have to find someone else.
‘Oh, wait! If you pay for it now I can make it $580!’
Yeeeeeah, still no. But also, thanks for originally ripping me off.

First ad on google.
Windscreen Boss.
Call them, yeah…we can be there tomorrow. Half an hour job. $379.

They’ve just left.
Turned up on time, offered us a $50 discount on a used window that he just happened to have (nah, happy with new, but thanks).
Finished on time.

Two seriously old school European guys in their black and white adidas track suits. Knew their stuff, and just so lovely.

Highly recommend. Would use again.

If you like an extra dose of heavy metals with your chips or on your steak sure!

Isn’t something like 70% of the worlds
manufacturing is done in China?

I’d buy quality made Chinese goods over other places any day.

The trouble as you say is picking the quality as they also provide junk.

For clothing the best tailors in the world are now all Chinese for example. You don’t go anywhere else for textiles.

Korea and Japan have superb textiles if you can access them.
Korean textiles are sourced here at reasonable prices.
China will increasingly move on from the cheap end of consumer goods,

More talking about working with them.

If you want something sewn go to China.

I’m interested too, but I’d like to hear from someone who has one first.

Do you think there’s a bunch of planes being designed by mattress engineers? I keep hearing how every mattress is designed by rocket scientists or aerospace engineers…
