I found 1990 very, very difficult. As the results show.

So Mr @wimmera1 …album number 3176 has now been listened to and added to the list.
It will not be making it’s way onto my playlist for future listening.
it’s name: Jagged Little Pill
An okay album with a number of songs that I recognised but had no prior knowledge that Alanis Morissette was the singer.
Were you even alive in the 90s?
I’m with Wimm on this one. It’s era defining

I didn’t know if I liked pop or rock.
Still not sure tbh.

I hated it in the early days, just because of the radio saturation.
I can appreciate it now though.

everyone had this cd. it’s that formats equivalent of bat out of hell for vinyl
Full respect to anyone who avoided Alanis. I spent the decade underground and still knew all the songs.

I got my copy at an underage disco at Stylus Nightclub. It was signed by two NBL players, and I caught it when they threw it into the crowd.

Tempted to give it a spin. I am pretty sure I know the ‘ironic’ song, but then there’s ’man, I feel like a woman’ and ‘that don’t impress me much’ which might not actually be her anyway.
Unless this is a big stitch up and she’s not actually THAT good…
You’d have to avoided all music for a decade to have never heard “You outta know.”
Interesting which artists who were massive and felt slightly edgy in the 90s haven’t really stood the test of time (Alanis, Silverchair), while others (Soundgarden, Jewell) have aged like wine.
Something about popularity in the moment that looks vulnerable but ends up just looking like insecurity vs an earnest honesty that brings respect. And then there’s some that have always been good (Radiohead, Pearl Jam early stuff), as well as stuff that was always rubbish but somehow got airtime.
It must be a sign- one day you’ll play for the Nunawading Spectres and DJR’s girlfriend will be your cheerleader

1996 -
3 - Robert Miles. Dreamland.
2 - Sasha & Digweed - Northern Exposure.
1 - Faithless - Reverance.
Good year.
Man I completely missed Faithless when I was researching. Great call on including them.
@klawdy getting digweed and Sasha through to the keeper is a questionable leave by swoodley. Sick mix so should be allowed.

More that I didn’t realise Klawds was a 14 year-old girl in 1990. That surprised me…

Up there rocking the no-denim look, eh? Or did they relax that for the underagers?

Don’t go conflating Shania and Alanis…
