I am just disappointed it wasn’t started in the 50’s, Ben Hur 59, anyway plenty of movies I have not seen so might get for the Cinema Room
Lol correct
Bloody hell, start again.
I was wondering if you reversed your votes?

Glad to see The wild Bunch get a vote.
Just found this thread. I will have to go into my movie library to research my choices. Back later.
Some years were surprisingly a breeze, others it was hard to find 5 for, and it came down to “yeah, I know I’ve seen that” or remembering a scene. I went through French New Wave phase when I was younger, a spaghetti western phase at some point, and poured through Japanese cinema when I moved here, so that helped to fill the numbers.

Huh. You could legitimately fill a top 5 in 1968 with horror and sci-fi…
That’s kinda interesting.
No love for Lawrence of Arabia?
It’s one hell of a blown out match, I’ll give it that.
Yes, way too late. Start in the 1920s !
I don’t think I ever tried, the running time was always too intimidating.
LoA is what the film critics mean when they say epic, it is epic in every sense of the word. The sweep and majesty of a desert has never been shown with greater effect. Peter O’Toole should have won the academy award for his portrayal.
It’s one of my all time favourite movies.
And as you say, a true epic, filmed on location before any gimmicks like CGI/AI.

You can include pôrnos if that helps
Well, I’d best check the archives. This may take a while.
I’ve already started my 70s list. I have a lot less gaps and surpisingly, there was a year where I had more than 5 to choose from.
Thanks mate…haven’t you seen Clint Eastwood’s spaghetti westerns?
