For sure, it’s been an amazing ride, and hopefully not over yet.
It looked like (or we safely assumed) 13 wins would be enough to get into finals, but the way the season has panned out 13 will only be enough if you have a hefty %.
In any case our season was as good as done before we played the Cats, and since then we have had a heap of unlikely wins, and won those that we always should have, but close losses to Pies and Hawks (with Tigers and Port)
to come really hurt our chances.
Imagine if we already had 13 wins how good the hype would be! Instead we are drowning needing the biggest miracle of all next week and another unlikely win the following week just to have a mathematical chance.
Anyway, it’s gonna be all heart from here on in, we will learn a lot about our club I reckon.
My finals predictor given all the pieces falling into place for us to finish 8th had us staying in Melbourne until prelim weekend. Collingwood first week, Hawthorn the second and off to Perth for a prelim with West Coast.
