The lead up to round 2

Actually now that I think about, this is perfect us. Going by the last couple of years on the field I’m pretty sure our defence, mid and forward groups haven’t spoken to each other since 2013, let alone trained and collaborated on a game plan together. Advantage Essendon!

Remember a world where Joe and the maybe/maybe not trade was the biggest story ever? How quaint!

A cherry picker will be very unhealthy.
He’ll be closer to those dreaded 5G towers. I’m more concerned about that than social distancing measures.

AFL have said that no training can commence until all States are able too. Is the delay now NSW and QLD?

I’m sure someone at Blitz has a spare tinfoil hat they’d lend, for the sake of a training report anyway.

Actually…
We should probably promote the covid safe disposable tinfoil hat. Just incase.

That’s not consistent with the main article on the AFL website. It’s still maximum of 10 for at least the next 3 weeks.

Yes, it’s actually now the AFL that’s the hold up.

“But the Victorian government has gone further for professional sporting organisations, including AFL clubs, confirming exemptions that would allow them to operate in larger groups.

The caveat is that their training venues must not be accessible to anyone not associated with their organisations.

“If they’re using a training facility, an indoor gym for instance, or an outdoor area, it must be exclusively for them,” Andrews said.“

The Awful web site is deliberately inaccurate- can’t have Gil & the boys looking as if they were unprepared or caught napping.

SA & WA need to be sorted out now, but between the Crows golf links, and the Weagles admitting they’d already been cheating on the two only rule, fark em.

Looking for full Bombers training on Wednesday.

We will probably still play Bin Chickens. Especially if it’s like Daniher will be right to play…

I just want them to name Smack and Stewart in the forward line and replace Stewart with Daniher at the last minute.

Cop the fine, get called an arrogant club, wins by 10 goals and cruises into round 3 in the top 4.

Sounds like we need a secret underground bunker.

To be fair, the text above does NOT say professional sports may exceed 10, just that they can train at normally banned locations.

Pretty sure Andrews said training of full squads was allowed though?

I am surprised the websites were not promptly updated. Had the weekend to write it up.

The reason the communications specialists like Barrett are sticking with 10 as a number is so they don’t have to take their shoes off to count how many players are at training.

Note, Storm are now returning to Melbourne with permission to resume full training, including contact, as per NSW permissions.

Covert “Where’s The Team?” thread.

I like it.

I’m pretty sure Andrews said that Essendon were exempt from all restrictions because GO DONS!!

It’s a bit hard to get a build up, without some important criteria;

  1. When/if it starts again

  2. Who we will be playing

  3. No training reports from @nackers
