The Music Quiz

... and no 2. is one of my faves as a kid.

I know the title, but would be clueless on who it was by, and had no idea there was more than one version.

When I was checking the lyrics, another fairly well known act was also mentioned as doing a version…I just wanted to make sure people picked the original
  1. Too Young To Be Married - The Hollies
  2. Backstreets - Bruce Springsteen
  1. Let There Be Rock - AC/DC
  1. Crosby Stills Nash & Young - Suite Judy Blue Eyes
  1. Boz Scaggs - What Can I Say
  2. Bob Seger - Still The Same
  1. More Than A Feeling - Boston
  2. The Stranger - Billy Joel
  1. Rock Show - Wings
  1. My Best Friends Girl - The Cars
Just one to go...this quiz obviously wasn't as hard as I thought it would be...I must have underestimated you all

2/8 Final answer entered

  1. Come, and talk of all things we did today / Hear, and laugh about our funny little ways / For we have a few minutes to breathe / And I know that it’s time you must leave

Darling Be Home Soon / Slade / nobody

I think Slade covered it on their first album. Not sure they did the original.

  1. Feels Like the First Time - Foreigner

Number 8?

  1. Bachman Turner Overdrive - Down The Highway
16 is one of those ones I think I know instantly but then see no one else has got what I thought is a well known one and then wonder if maybe my first thought was wrong but I’m going to say anyway that it’s Dreams by Fleetwood Mac
  2. Heart - Barracuda. Thank you, early levels of Guitar Hero
  1. Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy.

You’re right…I checked and the original was by The Lovin’ Spoonful in 1967

Kudos to you (and a slap for me)

I farking had that on tape, loved it.slade live vol 1,John Sebastian wrote it.im farking furious.

I think 2 is smoking in the boys room.motley crew did it but I think it may be a remotes song.
As for darling be home soon,John Sebastian definitely wrote it,but he may have been in the loving spoonful.
I’m still farking kicking myself.

Right song...Motley Crue are the band I was referring to when I said a well known band did a version....I'm after the band/artist that did the original

Yep. 1974 or 5. Used to sing it all the time… “Now teacher, don’t you fill me, up with your rules …”

I do remember the Motley version now you mention it, but still have no idea who wrote & released it back then.

I meant to say the remones not the remotes.they may be both wrong though!
