I hate those mornings when I put crack in my coffee instead of sugar… good days to stay off the internet.
Imagine being so delusional and in love with one ex player/ average coach that you would wish failure on your own team and its current coach.
Imagine being so delusional and in love with one young player/ defensively poor mid that you would wish failure on a better mid who has won multiple awards in marquee games.
Better close this thread down Hird is being mentioned.
Bring in the AFL thought police.
look at this martyr being silenced by the deepstate (mods)
Hird had the job until the blitz mods put pressure on the club
mendoza has this 1 trick

We don’t have dedicated threads for other unsuccessful coaching applicants (shame, I’d dominate a Murray Davis one), so we don’t need one for Hird.
Who have I ever wished failure on in this forum that is an Essendon player?
Have I commented on poor performance or preparation 100 hundred percent I have.
But not once have I ever said I hope parish has a awful year so that another player I like can get a game, to suggest I have is a bit of a ■■■■■■■■ statement
Boiled, baked or fried ?
Hird, Hird. It’s such a sweet story.
Sweet fairy tale.
Pardon me, I seem to have something in my eye …
I think it’s common we see flaws in others that we don’t see in ourselves (ALL of us).
You accused a poster of being - in love with; delusional; wishing failure.
Your many, many posts re tstatas I think suggest these similar ideas - with the exception you don’t wish failure, but you already rate parish as failing and hence should be dropped and replaced by your boy.
Not exactly the same thinking but similar.
I’m suggesting you (and all of us) look in the mirror before slandering others.
These discussions re Hird tend to be pointless. One poster wants him as coach and the other doesn’t. They look at the same set of facts and interpret them to support their desired outcome. This is almost the essence of Blitz.
A big no to any more North offshoots for quite a while please.
Churchill was dead to rights in the 20’s and 30’s…
I still prefer Hird.
I am waiting to be pleasantly surprised by Mcveigh.
Please don’t make me wait too long.
I finally listened to his Twomey and SEN (Tim and Lyon) interviews.
A bloke who is confident in who he is, but only through the hard work he put in to get to this point.
What stood out is that he has a very clear vision on what needs to happen and the reality of how hard it will be and long it’ll take. That he’ll be steadfast in holding players to the standards he sets.
I loved what he said about the development coach - what the role is, its importance and how they’ll be doing it. In particular testing the young players to ensure they actually understand what they need to do.
Things are going to be different - be it game style and focus on team defence. Players will be doing things they have not done before If true and he can get them to take this onboard we should be seeing a different looking team out there - both at training and in real matches.
Going to be a very interesting to watch him go about it. The list changes in particular will be fascinating.
He has an explicit understanding of the role of the development coach, and that’s what I found so refreshing. Often we hear about these roles and they’re clouded in mystery, but Spike just knows how things will operate and how it all functions. I am cautiously optimistic.
You have to earn the champing first.
