The carry-on here is ridiculous. Clearly we were not part of the interview process, and the talk about Welsh’s personal connection is, quite frankly, offensive.
A coach with McVeigh’s CV is exactly the type of appointment we should be looking at. Look at the blueprint of most premiership coaches and he fits it well - a solid apprenticeship under highly regarded coaches at successful clubs.
He has also coached in his own right, taking the Allies to their only Under-18 National Championship. That’s another significant string to his bow, particularly given how young our list demographic is going to be.
Hird, by comparison, is a long way from being the right person based purely on his coaching CV. Heck, in many ways we’re still dealing with the consequences of his previous tenure today.

Additionally we had two external interviews outside of the panel in addition to the panel recommendations.
we aren’t privy to how they presented but i think we need to back in the decision and recommendation.
His CV stacks up albeit without the premiership (two grand finals at different clubs though) so he has seen elite well run programs from juniors to the top.
I think moderators should give everyone here a few days to let it all out and then start permabanning

What if the board doesn’t ratify him and there are dissenting opinions? Or is it a fait accompli once you are called to present to the board? Like finally presenting an acceptable girlfriend to your parents for approval? Please explain..

I have just heard from a friend that lives in Barwon Heads that Welsh has hired security guards given he has received threats about not appointing Hird. Seriously if that’s the case our supporter base is more insane than I thought they were.

The panel is all fluff imo. Wasn’t Jordan Lewis going on the other day about how Brad was a bad selection but he was literally on the panel to hire him?

Jordan Lewis was pumping up the Brad selection when it was made and then claiming Hird was the best candidate when it was clear Brad was failing. Has a lot of the Brad Scott’s about him.

If you think the board, put there by members, shold nt be acting in the best interest in its members then we have a problem.
This decision to appoint someone who is remotley conected to the Swans and who will cost the club millions in sponsorship and membership is the one of the stupidist decisions he has made.
We will continue to be a fractured club for years and will have to resign ourselves to the fact we will be irrelivant for a generation
