I don’t think that jersey can get any greener.
He’s a handy top-up player.
. .
Actually it’s been a disastrous day for Team Bike Exchange - The stage 8 curse in the Gira Donne strikes again with the team being involved in a crash with 5 km to go - Brown and Williams are out - So in the two biggest races for the team they lose 4 riders in the one day.
This has been a brutal and high level exhibition at the TDF - I suspect some will suffer with their form for the remainder of the season.
Hooray ! It’s taken Chaves 35 stages to get into the break at the TDF.
Mollema
Rude of him to finish so early the tennis is still on!!
A strange ending to the stage - How does a group of 13 riders allow Mollema to take a minute - He probably would still have won from the group on the last climb but I’ll never understand the tactics.
SBS commentary
So good to have a familiar wheel
Sepp Kuss
Finished before the tennis again , rest day tomorrow.
Huge ride by O’Connor, fighting it out with the big favourites. Let’s see how he backs it up on Tuesday, considering how he struggled a bit after his stage win the last week.
May have already been mentioned but just wanted to say for anyone interested that the Skoda Tour Tracker app is outstanding. Not only live coverage in a variety of forms but a wide array of interesting info & videos. Videos are fantastic- a dozen or more each day including a full replay, various highlights & moments & scenics!
Go Ben!!
Brilliant App!
Seemed to alternate between attacking and falling off the back, but finishing with the other GC riders.
I couldn’t work out what he was trying to do. No damage done though.
I think I have mentioned every year since it came out. Just perfect for curling up in bed and following the race of you can’t stay up every night
Yep, I love all the things it offers… stage profile with live rider positions, details of riders & teams, great video snippets to watch again & I love the daily scenic video.
In my younger days I used to stay up every night… not so much now, apart from the big mountain stages which I love.
Looking forward to seeing if CAV can grab another couple of stages. I first saw him live at the TOB in 2007 I think it was. Great rider. Good to see he has his nerve back.
Hope Ben can back it up in the mountains stages.
Kuss is deadly on this type of finish if he is on a good day. Valverde set himself for this stage. His form is good and he could win a stage.
The last three stages are disappointing. A sprint, ITT and Champes sprint usually have little effect on GC. Ideally they could swapped stage 18 and 19.
