UCI Channel on Youtube is excellent for Cyclocross. Full replays a few hours after completion and even live streaming! Shame the season is over, it's such good watching.
There's a concerted push to get cyclocross into the Winter Olympics.
Thoughts?
Love it. Seriously not enough coverage. It's easily a better sit-down-and-watch-for-an-hour spectacle than any road cycling tour.

I think the current Winter Olympics rules require either snow or ice. So if included it would be a bit different than current cyclo which is based in mud and soggy ground. I reckon they would be better to push for Summer Olympics although harder to get in. The courses are man-made and watered, no reason it can't be year round sport, although it would stop pro-cyclists competing in both styles.
The breakway gets it in the Sun Tour today.
Simon Clarke takes it (and the overall lead) from Cam Wurf and Jack Haig.
Final stage of Sun Tour (including Arthur’s Seat) called off due to extreme weather conditions and fire threat. Clarke is the overall winner.

Bit disappointing to travel 300ks to see a race and it was called off. Not much danger down here - presentation still went ahead on Arthurs Seat. The problem was all the police vehicles were redeployed to fire areas elsewhere so they couldn't manage the course. Anyway stuff happens.
Still did short Amy's Ride, plus had a chat to Phil Anderson, and Scott McRory referred to my conveyance as an Aussie classic in the commentary.
Bugger.
My understanding was that all the emergency services vehicles were called out to deal with fires elsewhere, leaving insufficient to safely cover the race.

Well yes, emergency service = police. Safety issue to riders was because they couldn't close roads to keep car traffic out of race route. Vic Commissioner of Police was person who made the call to cancel race. Decision seems to be widely supported as nobody wants any of the riders to have tragic accident with a stray car.
Hepburn continues his good early season form and wins the ITT at the tour of Qatar
Boonen wins his 4th stage at the Tour of Qatar.
He is in red hot form.
Good article in cyclingtips about this being a make or break year for Goss.
What was it, 56kmh average for the whole stage?
I was happy hitting 50km for a flat 400m this morning … with a rolling start!
Yeh, impressive wasn't it. Helps when you've got 30 kph winds up your bum all the way!
I see Oceania Road Championships are on in Toowoomba this month. Wish Blitz had a correspondent up there with local knowledge to provide a preview.
Isn’t it this time next year?
Also hurry up and start classics season already!
In terms of road there's nothing much until March.
UCI Track Championship 26th of Feb.
The Tour de Langkawi is kind of interesting - starts 27th Feb
The good stuff:
Paris-Nice: 9th - 16th March
Tirreno-Adriatico: 12th - 18th March
And the first monument, MSR, 23rd March
Tour of East Gippsland this weekend says hi.
"The 2014 Zarraffa's Oceania Road Championships will be held in Toowoomba, QLD from Friday, Feb 21 to Sunday Feb 23".
Entries have now closed (looks like you've missed your chance Riolio)

I'm absolutely hanging out for the classics season this year. The drama of racing over cobbles and possible favourites that could win (Boonen looking good, Sagan yet to break through, Cancellara always there) including others who always have a crack is just irresistible racing. Love the Ardennes classics as well. Just a top 2 months of racing before the Giro & Tour.
If we get a Paris-Roubaix anything like last years, it will be awesome.
Greipel wins stage one of Tour of Oman, edging Leigh Howard.
Also interesting to see that world cross country champion, Nino Schurter will race with OGE in the Tour de Romandie and the Tour de Suisse. I guess that's the Scott bikes tie in.
Tragically, IAM's Kristof Goddaert killed today after crashing on a railway crossing and then being run over by a bus. :(
He'd just only returned from the Tour of Qatar.
