Matt Lawton who broke the story of the mystery package delivered to Wiggins in 2011, said on Australian radio he knows the name of the mystery package but unable to reveal it publically for legal reasons - Lawton would name the product if it was legal.
So we think Sky is still being less than truthful about the package?
This has some similarities to the EFC 34 - It still comes down to a ‘he said, she said’ situation. I am more interested in who leaked the information to the media.
Looks like the missing rider for the TDU is Roger Kluge to make his debut.
Ewan states he is riding Milan San Remo and the Giro - Doubt Ewan will get over the Poggio - Gerrans will be the number one rider at MSR - Unsure who the second option will be for MSR - Reckon Cavendish is the man for MSR.
Still no news about which GC riders will ride which GT, except for Kreuzeger who is locked in as a super domestique at the TDF - Orica Scott keep a tight leash on rider schedules.
I doubt the Poggio will be a problem for Ewan, if Cav can do it so can he.
However, I see the 250+ km more of an issue for him. His endurance is questionable.

Actually, I have no issue with Ewan’s endurance - Rode well in a 211 km stage in the Giro and won the Hamburgs Classic over 217 km on a toughish course - Ewan is like Kittel - Any kind of incline is a disaster.
My transfer target for 2018 is Geraint Thomas - Contracted with Sky for 2017 with an option for 2018 - May find it uncomfortable at Sky this year and of course has reduced opportunities - Verstaile rider who can win races and be used in a variety of roles.
Cycling Quotes later today has a preview of Orica Scott for 2017 - Their previews are good quality.

And yet in the 2015 Australian Road Championships, which had plenty of incline, he ran a very close second.
He actually had a very good reputation in U23 ranks for being able to deal with lump courses.

Yet Ewan was a decent TTer in the Juniors but isnow nearly the worst in the peleton - Anyway you are worried about his endurance for MSR, yet I am worried about the Poggio - We could be both right or wrong - But Ewan needs to find another string to his bow - Think Sunderland will win the Bay Crits - It’s a pity Sunderland has focussed on the track as he is WT level.
Meersman is yet another cyclist in his 30’s retiring with a damaged heart - There seems to be 2 or 3 every year. My guess is cycling is such a demanding endurance sport it puts pressure on the heart.

I think Sagan, Matthews etc will get away on the Poggio - it always happens. Orica Scott will try and get Gerrans / Cort (if he rides) to go with them. Ewan will be with the sprinters teams trying to catch them on the run in home. Sometimes they catch and the sprinters rule the race, if not it's for the punchuers to win.
Awesome wins today by Spratt and Hepburn - Spratt will be hard to beat in the National’s - It’s a make or break year for Hepburn - He’s WT standard but he needs to prove it on the truck.
I chuckled during the commentary when Matt Keenan suggested Hepburn, Docker and Durbdidge as possible winners of Paris Roubais - Durbridge has some chance as do Keukeliere and Cort in one or two years time.
Have no idea why Ewan is riding the Bay Crits - At the end of the day, Orica chose him over Matthews, so you don’t want this investment riding in 60km races, something Matthews would never do.
National’s start in two days - Orica will target the Criterium with Ewan and Gerrans in the RR - Orica is desperate to win the RR, after missing out the last two years.
Has anyone seen any training pics of Sagan in Australia.

I think if he's serious about the TDU sprints, it's a reasonable call to do the crits.

Full name of BayCrits is Michelton Bay Cycling Classic. It is Gerry Ryan’s race - his sprinter is always going to race it if he is in the country.
So Orica Scott has 7 out of their 10 riders doing the RR - One’s missing are Hayman whose wife is expecting a baby, Haig who is training in Andorra and Spain and Edmondson who is training in Australia - My guess is Orica will play the Gerrans hand.
My biggest interest is the Under 23 TT - I want to see how Mitchell Storer performs and its a pity Jai Hindley is not in this race - Two young, rising Australian GC guys for the future - I suspect that Orica will sign either Storer or Hindley for 2018 or 2019 - It may be the rider who TT’s best that is chosen - Orica needs a point of difference with their GC’s guys seeing Chaves and Yates brothers are not good TTer’s by GC standards.
On the women’s side, I suspect Katrin Garfoot will win a big race in 2017 - Late-comer to the cycling ranks who is improving each year.
I’m looking forward to seeing how Brendan Canty goes this year. He’s been burning up the local hills (I’ve crossed paths with him a few times, boy does he fly up the hills). He’s riding the nationals, but I’m not sure what his short term program is after that.

Will be interesting is Cannondale ease him in his first year at WT level or let him go full gas - Expect the latter and will probably ride a GT, possibly the Vuelta - Cannondale is a good team for Canty - He can sit behind Talansky, Uran, Formolo, Rolland, and Woods to learn his trade.
