Oh FK, I hope he’s ok.

It’s also a matter of someone who has a ‘dream job’ which he does very well, who is not prepared to make the sacrifices needed for the job - And the quality of the commentary suffers from not being in the job.

I suspect Bernal will be out of action until the second half of the year - Maybe he gets back for the Vuelta - I am surprised he was riding his TT bike on busy roads. I suspect Carapaz will again have his program changed,

Perhaps some bigger opportunities for Porte?

Seems highly unlikely. It sounds far worse than first thought. Could be well career ending.

“After requesting an explanation of this technical language from a specialist in this field of medicine, I can understand that we no longer talk about cycling,” Jácome wrote. “Everything that happens today and in the next few hours will be ensuring Egan Bernal’s quality of life after this accident.”

  • A femur fractured into multiple pieces.
  • An open fracture of his patella (kneecap).
  • A pneumothorax (collapsed lung).

But beyond those injuries, there’s particular concern about further surgery Bernal is currently having on his spinal column. The medical update suggests uncertainty about the nature of the injury and the outcome.

“We hope that the surgery of the thoracic spine that is being performed under intraoperative monitoring … can be carried out in the best way, hoping for the best outcome according to the intraoperative injuries.”

Geez, the poor guy. I hope he recovers well.

I hit the back of a truck once when drafting too close and the truck suddenly pulled up at a red light. Smashed my face right into it. Glasses exploded, ripped face, sheared nose. Bloody everywhere. Got a bunch of stitches. Got up and rode home much to the horror of all the onlookers who came to help.

Went to a job interview the next day. They had no trouble remembering me. Got the job too.

Baker gets her win in the crit race. RRG did the lead-out.

Georgia Baker is definitely faster than RRG - Having RRG, Baker, Manly, Fidanza and Campbell gives you a quality sprint lead out - Hoping that BEX chooses the right races for RRG - She can do well in stage races because she has good recovery and consistency. Anyway, Jerry is having a party for the girls tonight before they head off to Europe.

Looks like this race is over on the first day like with Durbridge in 2021 - Whelan’s important goal is the Oceania championship in April which is worth 400 UCI points - This is what can get him back into the pro peleton in 2022.

Next minute …

Cyrus Monk wins stage 1 (ITT) of the Tour of Sharjah.

I wonder if his team got an invite to the Tour of Oman.

Monk’s team did not receive an invitation to Oman - Plapp starts his season at the UAE Tour and will be exclusively riding stage races - Big targets are the Comm Games and World’s ITT.

Edit….moving over to the other thread, thanks for the leads.

Seems like the best place to ask…

I was on a website the other day that I can’t find now and thought you guys might know of it, or one similar.

I want to buy a mountain bike, and the site I was on had a comprehensive chart with x (features/quality) and y (price) axes and each bike was on the chart represented by a dot.

I could then see if I went up in price, which bikes would also go up in quality of features. Or I could see a lower priced bike that had better/similar features, I could hover over the dot on the chart and see what model it was.

Alternatively, any gif sites to compare mountain bikes?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have no idea how to answer your question, but perhaps “blitz probe cycling” would be the thread?
