Had Ruby Rose-Gannon’s dad have a go at me for a comment I made about her on You Tube. I stated that her performance at the 2024 World’s was a fluke or words to that effect. I stand by my comments as Ruby has never performed like that on such a parcours. Anyway Ruby’s dad sent me a long and detailed message which went into her particular characteristics ( she loves rainy conditions ), her preparation for the 2024 Worlds, her role in the team, the tactics of Australia and other nations during the race. The interesting thing is that in that event Ruby was a domestique for Bradbury and Brown. It also reminded me how Vollering chased down Vos who was in the break at the end of the race.
Pogacar is a chance to be at the TDU in 2027. I will travel down for the race if the great man attends.
Schmid stuffed up the final of a one day race in Italy last night. In a 6 person sprint in which he should be the 1st or 2nd fastest, he strated his sprint with 350m to go. It sums up Jayco’s season.
Oliver Bleddyn joins Jayco which means that three of the mens ITT gold medal winning team at the paris Olympics will be riding together. Think Bleddyn can fit into a sprint team and can end up a bit better than O’brien.
Damn. Plapp out with a broken wrist. Had planned to ctach up with him at the HK cyclathon on Sunday.
End of the season a disaster for jayco. They were hoping for top tens in Guangxi with Plapp, Double and hatherly. Plapp injured, while hatherley has not recovered his form after mountain biking. Finally, no under 23 team in 2027.
