FK, missed voting on Labour of Love. Would have been a big yes. Whirled was really a fantastic EP.

I remember when Ordinary Angels was released and they played a gig downstairs at RMIT at lunchtime. You couldn’t get into the theatre, and they had the whole thing (what would now be called) streaming to a bank of CRTs in the caf, and you could barely fit another person in the caf either. It was insane.

So a carryover yes.

For more 90s memories .

Yeah

Saw them at my second-favourite gig ever, supporting Violent Femmes.
‘This is the biggest room we’ve played in.’
‘This is the biggest room I’ve been in.’
Charm? Oh yeah.

And people reckoned my set was Triple J material?!?!
Just as well I look back very fondly on this era…

Pretty sure Horsham didn’t have Triple J in ‘91.
And the Cruel Sea are Triple M, thank you so very much.

That’s true but trust me, they were very much Triple J from 1993 to about 1996. You’d barely get through an hour without hearing this, Black Stick or Better Get A Lawyer (amongst others)…

My old U/17s footy coach loved these guys. Played this album to death.

Clouds! Yes!

Greatest hits set.

Easy yes.

And now I’m walking through the “carnival” at Stawell at 2am (1) on Easter Saturday with a lovely girl from Greens Creek. I really should have guessed that Wim would drag me into western Vic.

((1) Yeah, right, more like 930pm, but it feels like 2am)

Hell yes!!
Saw them last year, and they were still great - harmonies well and truly in tact! New (as yet unreleased) stuff sounded promising too.

Just don’t play their Wichita Lineman cover - it didn’t fare well. Or was it you that did?

Nope.
