The reigning DJ King (Mk IX) is @nobody because ***BLOND DJ IS LIVE***...Round 2 (Songs from the slightly more successful round 1 DJs)

I produced a fairly decent sized production of Hair back in my 20’s. We had nude chicks on stage. (Technically some strategic props kept them from being nude on stage, but backstage was a blast.)

I generally hate musical theatre, but I like the music from this one.

YES to the song.

I was too much of a suburban boy at the end of the 60s to be a hippy, but I enjoyed the hippy era in the 70s. I don’t like the song much these days, but as @Lifetime_ban intimated, it’s a landmark, so that’s enough for a yes.

I originally missed the capital H when I read that sentence, and thought you were saying you were exceedingly hirsute.

Yeah - I’m OK.

But I’m on a train - on my way to deliver the very worst news. Not going to be a great day.

Thanks all.

I posted a bit of this in the movies thread but deleted it as I felt it wasn’t really appropriate in there.
Better in here.

A River Runs Through It (1992).
I watched this film about 20 years ago.
I never forgot it.
I pretty much knew when I was watching it that one day life would mirror this film.
Well yesterday morning it did and the police came knocking.

I’ve been working on the eulogy and I’m going to use an excerpt from the film script because I think it addresses the guilt we all feel.

“Each one of us here today will, at one time in our lives… look upon a loved one who is in need and ask the same question.

“We are willing to help - but what, if anything, is needed?”

It is true we can seldom help those closest to us.

Either we don’t know what part of ourselves to give… or more often than not, the part we have to give… is not wanted or heeded.

And so it is those we live with and should know - who elude us… but we can still love them.

We can still love them completely … but without complete understanding.”

So yeah - I’m on the train - on my way to deliver the news to my step dad.

We knew it was coming one day, as anyone who has someone close to them with an addiction probably does. But it’s still quite a shock when you finally get the news and I worry about my step dad.

Such a terrible thing to happen. Best wishes to you and all concerned.

That’s a ■■■■■■ situation to be dealing with Mackster. All the best, buddy.

Anyway - I don’t want to bring the thread down.
I am OK.

I posted in another topic the other day that even though I have only met a few on this forum, I sometimes find it easier and better to share stuff and talk about stuff with people I don’t actually
know on here - but feel like I do know - than it is face to face with my friends.

So keep spinning LB.

So sorry for your tough situation.

I saw that snippet in the other thread, quickly followed by your post in here.

Stay close to the rest of your family and look after each other.

Great start to the day LB…you’ve played a couple of crackers.
