Yes.
Not sure which of these songs last few songs we are voting on but I’ll be a no to any them.
That was pretty tacky diggers but the ski angle gets it a yes.
6-2
Thinking of introducing a “random thought” element to the thread. Here’s number one:
At the end of ‘Kickstart my Heart’, a song that clocks in at around 4.30, Vince Neil says "okay boys, let’s rock the hhhhhouse! and within 5 seconds of faux cocophany says “that’s all” and the song finishes. It seems a major oversight of Rock n Roll logic. Bob Rock has a lot to answer for, outside of ruining Metallica and turning the Cult into a Guns and Roses clone.
My random thought for the day:
Should my A Flock Of Seagulls and A Certain Ratio records be filed under “A” or the first letter of the second word? “The” bands are obviously the following word, but “A” bands could be treated differently.
Yes to Diggers spinning another set.
My random thoughts for the day:
How did a perfectly ok indie rock group (Kara’s Flowers) become the appallingly, unbelievably insipid Maroon 5?
When a band loses their lead singer, should they be forced by law to change their name?
Great single.
Is it Iron Maiden who announce a drum solo with “guitar” and guitar w/ “drums” ?
Is that a can of worms I hear opening? While I would agree (and think A bands should follow the same rule), it’s not always followed in record stores.
Yes for being a pushy DJ.
Just yesterday my random thought was should I start a High Fidelity thread with a different Top 5 theme for each week.
Really? I would riot if I went into a store looking for Buzzcocks, and someone made a double blunder and filed them under T.
Only The The should be filed under the.
I was thinking that - at least - the random music thoughts could fill in any extended lull in DJ commitment. I’ve got heaps of them, but will ration. I talk to my friends about them but they tend to start talking about something else pretty quickly. Reckon I’ve found my crowd with you music nerds. Could be a comp within a comp…? Yeah, nah.
The rule is, you drop the definite article- i.e. “The”
The the, is an obvious exception.
Is it cool or lame that I actually bought a copy of the Three EPs by the Beta Band after watching that movie?
It’s cool. But only because, as we saw in his recent clip, singer Steve Mason is one cool dude.
This is my all time favourite lyric
Bleating and babbling we fell on his neck with a scream
Wave upon wave of demented avengers
March cheerfully out of obscurity into the dream
Pretty cool eh?
If you don’t think so…it’s your problem, not mine
