Beck started out kinda interesting in a stoner, oddball way. He then released a couple of really decent albums which were a good balance of his early DIY ethos and bigger production. Everything after was just more of the same, though with less strong songs with all the rough edges sanded off.
Similar trajectory to the Eels (whose first 4 albums were and are absolutely mint).
