When was this released? If I had to guess I’d say early-mid 90’s when all those UK “acid-jazz” acts (Corduroy, Brand New Heavies, Jamiroquai et al.) started appearing.
I woke up with a blocked ear so I squirted some ear wax remover into it. I made a cup of coffee and switched on to @hambo’s latest eclectic offering. I could hear the jazzy soul funky groove in my left ear but the right ear was blocked so I couldn’t hear the vocals. I looked out the window and saw a man in jogging gear struggling up the hill. I wondered about this tune and then gave it a yes. I picked up the remote to switch on the latest news on COVID-19, but changed my mind. I could do that later, I thought, and walked into my garden to look at the colours of the leaves in my trees.
