Hahaha. Nah it wasn’t. Honestly enjoyed it. I struggled for a standout in the final tbh. I gave the Wombats 1 vote and I thought it was Daniel Blandy. Blandy McBland face.
Now we’re talkin. At around 19 min mark of the KEXP performance the second Slift track really gets going as the guitarist starts tweaking a synth.

I dated a Katie…she was wild…anything that reminds me of her is generally pretty good
Before I continue scrolling, is the thread about to get raunchy and disturbing?
You’ll have to see for yourself…but Ivan and Peos do tell a few stories

She had a real thing for chickens for some reason and we came across a massage chair at some point and
SAY NO MORE!
Genuine lols
After scrolling to the end I’ve decided to start a band called Svetlana and The Rock Flogs, and name the first single “Chicken Massage”.
Sounds like a sure fire number one…probably won’t do well on DJ King though if it gets too popular

Exceptional form there Jez.
So…reading through the comments on the Slift Live on KEXP video, there are references to Thee Oh Sees and King Gizzard.
Can anyone tell where I should start listening to those two?
If you start on King Gizzard that will keep you occupied for about 5 years…
Gamma Knife is the obvious start for King Gizzard.
What style of music do they play on that?
It’s a single. Probably their biggest hit and maybe most poppy?
A bit Spiderbaity. Lo-fi driving rock.
I’m looking for their more stoner rock stuff…I presume they play some of that given their link with Slift
check the spreadsheet and start there
They shift across many genres, they might do an arabic psychedlic album followed up by a 60s electronic influenced album, pretty hard to pin down. I played Cyboogie which is my kind of thing but there is a lot that they do I’m not really in to.
@swoodley if you haven’t already, check out a band called The Porcupine Tree. I suspect there might be some stuff there which might be of appeal…
Signify and Lightbulb Sun were the albums I was told to start with, but there’s others to recommend…
It’s kinda got a morning after feel in this thread atm.
