these guys are approaching Fleetwood Mac levels of drugfuckedupness. They are a very very good band that needs a shizen filter. No to this one.

also I can’t remember being to a club that actually closed before I was either totally fucken toasted or bored so I don’t know these closing songs. I usually got kicked out before then.

And no to the song

Haha.

I think we’re getting a little loose with the term ‘classics.’

Why do you still persist in trying to convince us that you don’t like Teenage Dirtbag?

Just about everyone in here knows it’s probably your all time favourite song :joy:

My get out and go home songs were The Day You Went Away, and Goodnight Sweetheart.
I remember one club used to close with My Way (Frank, not Sid).

Sorry for the delay

The bar I worked at in my early 20s used to use New York New York by Frank Sinatra as it’s closing song. Which seemed like an odd choice for an Irish bar. At least to me.

Then 9/11 happened so they switched it up to a Frank Bennett cover of Radiohead’s Creep, which was much cooler.

Anyhoo, have a YES for The Slingers.

Payback it would seem.

Yep.

Pleasant enough tune. Didn’t like the singer’s vocal affectations much at all though… he was clearly aiming for that Springsteen sound.

Yes-ish… just.

Yeah, I just found the notification button :joy:

Oh man, I still recall being roasted for playing the War on Drugs as the ultimate boring dad rock. This one takes the formula, adds worse vocals and a pretty average tune, so in the spirit of having held onto salt for 18 months this is a no

War on drugs and the Boss, sounds great

Yes

I’ve been known to like a lot of mediocre pedestrian rock music.

But this is even too bland for me.

No.

I think that was the bit that I liked.

Sort of reminds me more of a Tom Petty song, had been in a melancholy mood since Saturday, suffering a “Daycare” head cold, seeing if a beer might shake that
