I’m thinking it might be fun to partake in the drug of choice for each specific era, while we’re doing them.

Just trying to source some acid now.

I’m not looking forward to the 90’s because heroin is rubbish, but those 2000’s are gonna be great!

There is no clear answer to this question.

You never know which way the votes will go.

Rare stuff usually goes down well, except if @mrjez plays it.

It’s very hard to predict. Sometimes a classic hit in amongst a selection of punk songs might go well. Other times people turn their noses up at it. It’s unpredictable. As a general rule though if your playing a big artist it’s going to need to be a rare b side to get votes.

These guys voted me out with my excellent Tenpole Tudor track. They’ve got NFI

Nothing makes sense. Just make sure you pick something you like rather than try to pander to the crowd. Bombing on a track you don’t even like ain’t good.

We can lay on the beach and count grains of sand
Or take a plane to Japan, and drink sake with mafia
Fly to Libya for some Bacardi with Qaddafi a
Dinner date, followed by a funk show
We’ll rip off our tops and jump around in the front row

Very much depends on what everyone else plays.
If everyone plays b-sides then Sugar Sugar by the Archies might get votes merely because it cuts through.
Or it might not.
It’s a curious beast.

A couple of questions for @swoodley

  1. Can you play a repeat of a song played by yourself? Just asking for a… Me.

  2. As it’s going to be a running tally over the whole 6 rounds, it’s possible that somebody could reach an uncatchable lead 3-4 rounds in. Are you going to do song reveals after each round, or keep it all until the end?

Thanks for your time, look forward to your response.

hmmmm. Should I play HOTR again?

In answer to your questions:

  1. Yes…as long as the version of the song was released in the relevant decade

  2. Given that we have at least 25 players, it’s possible (highly unlikely) that someone could get 125 votes in a single round. I think that I’ll certainly reveal after the first few rounds but might close down the last few. I’ll see how the mood takes me

Strong answers.

I’d say strong, to very strong.

Oh Doggy, given my well-documented dislike of post-2010 music in here (more specifically the way it’s recorded, engineered, produced and ESPECIALLY mastered), I’ve already resigned myself to 0 votes in that round…

Yes…one song at a time preferably…so I’ll need your 60s song by afternoon tomorrow.

Just a reminder to everyone…I’m in Perth so am many years behind on the clock…I won’t be starting to put songs up until I get home from work tomorrow which will be just after 5pm local time

@Davo …can you confirm that you’re in (or not)?

I thought you would like them
