To be fair, I did go back and listen to Mackster’s post. They may have re-cut the clip using the Angus version. I remember between the original single and the Angus version being much starker. I’ll have to dig out 1977 now and do an A-B comparison…

I haven’t read into the details of the accusations, so I don’t know what they entail.
But I kind of feel that every lead singer of every rock band ever, could be done for sexual misconduct in some way. And not just the male ones.
Edit: Ok, I read bit into it. Maybe not every lead singer, not to this extent.

Just on Arcade Fire.
Several artists recently have been similarly accused over recent years. Whenever their partner/wife/whatever has been asked for comment (as was the case here) the response has always been a variant of “he/she/it/whatever is a loving person who cares deeply for their family and friends, and would never, ever have acted inappropriately in such a way”, never “I find it unlikely that they would have acted inappropriately in such a way however I would very much like to know why the ■■■■ they found themselves in that situation in the first place given they are married/in a committed relationship with me”.
Where do you find someone who would be that understanding? I’m not sure Mrs B would be quite as forgiving if I tried “well honey, yes, I was shitfaced in the back of a car with a hottie 15 years younger than me and, yes, I did have my hand on her thigh and, yes, we were up to no good and, yes, she may even have had her hands down my pants but… I never forced myself on her, OK?”
It really is an alternative reality when you’re rich and famous, isn’t it?
