These were re-releases… The last ABBA album was (I think) one of the first “new” albums released on CD, but that was about 12m after the record was released. Could well be wrong, but I always thought the first pop/rock album released contemporaneously on CD was Brooooce’s Born In The USA…
The first music released on CD was a classical album.
I think you’re thinking of The Visitors.
There seems to be a myth going around that it was the first pop album, but…I thought I read there were delays with it and it was released in 1983.
Yes, there was some classical among the 50.
There were others made prior but not for widespread release.
