That sounds like a bridge too far for Serena.

De Minaur wins the first set in the most regulation de Minaur manner that can possibly be imagined.

De Minaur folds in straights sets to Coboli.

It’s always amusing seeing that little 5 or 6 next to De Minaur’s name in the draw knowing that he represents zero threat to anyone and is no chance of making a semi final let alone a final.

Having said that it’s still a pretty good life he’s living making squillions.

Osaka is one of my faves, just strikes the ball so sweetly, with a minimum of effort.

ADM is 22-63 against top ten players in his career. The result is no surprise.

Whos your tip in the womens.

Mens looks to be Sinner again.

I thought Osaka would have been a chance, as draw seems open

Maybe Coco Gauff?

Gauff goes well here, and is the highest remaining seed.

Love to see Muchovaa win as she plays classical tennis and in fact the closest in style to barty.

worth a mention - Kokkinakis is in the semis for men’s doubles - playing the no 1 seeds

I reckon Novak wins this one.

one more would be nice

Meanwhile .. this local wildcard keeps it going in the Mens, in the heat and all. Pretty darn good

Every single singles match yesterday was a straight-sets affair.
Dull.
Kosttyuk beat Paolini
Noskova beat Mertens
Zverev takes out Fritz
Fery beats Cobolli

Muchova beats Gauff in a 3rd set tiebreaker.
Noskova beats Kostyuk in straight sets.

Arevalo/Ostapenko beat Polmans/Hunter in the mixed doubles finals.

Doesn’t guarantee translation to senior tennis success of course but I must say, I’d kind of consigned Cruz Hewitt to being an overrated nobody who is only talked about because of the family link so fkg fair play to him for making the Wimbledon Junior Final. Well done young man.

Hewitt has dominated the competition so far in this Wimbledon. Different player to lleyton in that he is 190cm tall, has a strong serve and a wicked forward. Backhand is solid, however, he can improve his court coverage. And he has the support of Federer’s twin daughters.
