Untrue. They’re about.

Looks like the 2 ladies that perished in the Alpine area weren’t that far away from Cleve Cole hut.
Guess we’ll find out in due time as to how prepared they were & whether they had previously reached it or just missed out.

Went on a bit of a mish from where I was camping to Tathra this morning (and back this arvo).
Only one danger noodle but plenty of whales!
My trip covered about half of the Wharf to Wharf trail from Merimbula to Tathra.

First time taking my kayak into open water (albeit from the river mouth at Pambula).
Definitely a different kettle of fish to rivers/lakes and needed to self-rescue once after getting capsized coming in.
First photo is plowing through a wave heading out.
Second photo I was heading 90 degrees to the left but the wave overran me and I ended up capsizing (in hindsight if I had braced to me left instead of right I might have been ok!).

I did a couple of days hiking along the Great South West Walk.

60km in 3 days. From Bridge Water Blow holes, across to Portland.

The GSWW is really well maintained, and ran into volunteers a couple of times who were working on the track.

The plovers were out in force. So I wasn’t able to sit on the sand and enjoy a snack, because they’d be f*cking swooping me as soon as I got comfortable.

Beautiful weather, abit of wind, and come across a few snakes sun baking.

At least you have Cleve Cole Hut to shelter in if you need to, which wasn’t available to Cleve.

Mt Feathertop Summit ATM.

Quite a chilly morning.

Not much of a view, unfortunately.

Nice walk though.
