What do we do about the draft? One thing I’d like to know is can we involve ourselves in the father/son picks. I don’t think Adelaide could but I’m not sure.

Father son picks are not excluded. If someone bids round 1, we use our next pick ( round 3). We can then trade without restriction into any area of the draft as normal.

If so, that might be the end of Bomber. Do they get on that well? Personally I think Sheeds would be a backward move but at least he wouldn’t have any baggage. Not sure he’d leave happily after a year. Has proved difficult to shift in the past. Does he get on with Jobe? He doesn’t seem to see eye to eye with Tim.Sheedy for a year???
The difficulty is the 12 month tenure issue. Can’t see an ambitious coach moving happily aside.

In retrospect, it’s a good thing we had the clean out last year and brought in several kids, probably means it’s easier to justify mature age recruits or player trades this year.

I'd prefer to see Hird step in as the assistant coach for the remainder of that season and then take over the reigns as senior coach again in 2015. I don't think bomber is too keen to be head coach again but if he knows it's only temporary then I'd say it's the way to go.
As someone mentioned, Sheedy would be a backwards step.
If Hird is coming back, need someone who knows the gameplan. Bomber would be best. Can’t get someone in for a year with a different style. Would be worse off.
Here is my Idea for coach.
Bomber Thompson stays as 'assistant' coach but in reality he is the 'real' coach.
Then each week we have a celebrity Coach who pretend to be the coach.
Round 1: Hugh Jackman
Round 2: Jennifer Hawkins
Round 3: Andrew Bogut
Round 4: Anh Do
Round 5: That brunette chick from the Robin Thicke film clip
Round 6: Hamish and Andy
Round 7: etc
Geez that'd ■■■■ the AFL off.
We don't even have any decent father sons this year by the sounds of it, so its a moot point

Would love bomber to take over, if we make the finals Hird should come back as assistant and then retake the reigns in 2015.
If bomber doesn't it should be Goodwin, someone who knows the current plans and can enforce them

2. Sheedy should return- the club is at its lowest ebb and he will keep the Essendon story positive. We could have used him during the year.
3. Processes within Essendon need to be revamped including hiring procedures. There cannot be a situation again when a group of "yes men" with a disregard for processes come together. The hiring needs to be approved by the board and every applicant needs to go through a proper process irrespective of who they are mates with.

Yeah but would she step aside in 12 months time? Mind you she does have experience as an AFL team manager.
