The Weather Thread (not allowed to talk about rain)

I’m renovating my place on Phillip island and woke up to this in the morning. The fence is not that old and the whole middle section has blown straight off. The post are still solid in the ground but it’s like a truck just drove straight through it. The wind coming from Bass strait is hectic. It’s time to crack a beer

Just saw a photo from my google photos feed thing.

I took it at the start of the year before the big storm hit Mirboo North in February.

Note the trees in the background.

Heres the same group of trees from a photo I took yesterday

Still shocks me.

Melbourne heading for it’s coldest September day (and Spring day) for 20 years today.

Only reached 10.8°C today in between showers and hail.

The 10.7°C on September 11, 2004 was the day we played Geelong in a losing Semi Final at the MCG. One week after our last finals win.

Aurora night tonight if you can get somewhere where there’s not too much street and building lighting.

Night is a feature of all parts of the earth, so no.

Hope we’re all ready for 25º and sun all of today (between the two night thingies).

Isn’t there a place where they don’t get that much?

My reply was specific: beyond the Arctic and Antarctic Circles you have times of the year of both eternal day but then at the other end of the year eternal night.
