The Weather Thread (not allowed to talk about rain)

Where’s “here” ace?

Insane temps!

Adelaide northern suburbs and surrounding areas.

Adelaide CBD got to 43, Elizabeth was 47 and Gawler which is close to home got to 47.1 at around 4pm. One of our pilots commented that a couple of towns in the Pilbara got to 49 yesterday

Stinking hot and now a hot wind. Not nice.

Total fire ban for all Vic, for tomorrow

Radar picking up some serious interference from that fire near Alexandra.

It’s clearly visible from the northern/north-east suburbs of Melbourne over the ranges.

Not great.

Can’t like.

Mun said her power is out at Aspendale.

We just lost power in Epping

Aireys Inlet has dropped from 41°C to 33°C in the last half hour. With 63km/h gusts and a wind change.

Whilst this may be good news for those not enjoying the seriously hot weather, it is going to pose a lot of problems when that change begins to filter through southern VIC and the fire areas.

Shut. Up.

The last time Blitz barracked for records, half the state burnt down.

No barracking at all.

The brackets and (other adjective) part was a sign.

My dad lives at Taggerty, was moving in 2009 and somehow neither the old nor new property got destroyed.

He sold a tree farm at Kanumbra last year, and it looks to be in today’s path…

May his luck (and everyone else’s) continue.

(He is currently in NSW, and not in any hurry to get back.)

It’s just dropped to about 33 in Geelong

Fast temperature changes bring strong winds, and 33 is still plenty hot enough to cause trouble. Very much not out of the woods on the fire risk side of things yet.

At least with the wind change the humidity rises and that’s a retardant in a sense.

The sun is not normally that orange when it’s that high in the sky…
