Seems like they are looking to retain the older age bracket of players we already have and want to build underneath that a good foundation of young players to come up together.
The dogs? What?
Most of their trades and moves over the past 4-5 years post Eade have been about getting rid of older guys, for either draft picks and young players
Cooney Griffen Higgins, Addison, Talia, liam Jones out;
Boyd, Hamling, 23yo Shane Biggs and draft picks in.
Only exception is Cramers who was 25 odd when they got him and Suckling.
So we don’t want Rockliff, who’d clearly improve our ■■■■■ midfield immediately, and is at a good age, same age as Hurley, but getting Crameri who’s cooked, sure we’ll save that one for later. Farrrkkkkk

We’re not interested in Crameri. Jackets was just being polite in answering the question about whether we wanted him.
“It’s an interesting one,” Dodoro said. “Given he’s a former player at the club, we’d like to see where he’s at. But it’s not a priority for us at this point in time.”
That’s pretty much a “Yeah, nah” whilst making sure we don’t hurt Stewie’s feelings.
■■■■ it’s funny watching people jump at shadows like Crameri. I thought it was only the communication specialists who could listen to what jackets said and then actually think we are interested in Crammers.
If we manage the list, and particularly development well over the next 18 months, we’ll have a gun forward line, all under about 25, an established backline, and an established, deep, if not star studded midfield all under about 26-27 but primarily under about 23. Plus Hurley, Zaha and Hooker as the (only) 3 old experienced leaders.
We don’t need to rebuild. We do need to be smart about age demographics. Set up for a 4-5 year window where we throw the sink at it.
