Trade talk - from August 2024

We would beat Brisbane and Hawthorn at the G as well as Carlton. Doggies will win the whole thing.

He is amazing. Wish we had him.

Saints losing battle means they may chase Laverde

Its the BZT scenario, plays in a decent team, has the luxury of being the 3rd-4th tall, plays well and looks good.
Laverde would/could do the same.

It doesn’t make us look stupid at all, but just proves our back line isn’t currently up to scratch and we don’t have the luxury of playing a guy like him in his rightful role.

We would struggle to beat the Box Hill Hawks at the MCG currently

We could have went so hard a couple of years ago when Scott started but no we are stuck in the land of mediocrity. We need draft picks and we need them in a hurry. I really hope we go crap next year and bottom out.

Other clubs seem to have a strategy they are pursuing. Ours seems to be “it’s gotta get better at some point, doesn’t it?”

Barrass is better. Would like to see the stats on Battle, always thought he was average.

Barrass turns 29 in october blitz wil complain hes too old

Where we are at, which should be full rebuild he is too old. Hawthorn obviously think stars are aligning and will be in the window over the next 3 years.

He is, trading a first round pick for us for a 29 old is a wrong move

The same people that are saying the Hawks are flying past us are the same people who said the crows and Freo flew past us 2 years ago.

In reality until they make consecutive prelims there isn’t any proof their rebuild is complete and won’t be stuck in middle ground for years to come.

Hawks offering 5 years apparently

Agree it’s why I’m not sold on Hawks yet.

Could easily take a few steps backwards next year they will get a harder draw, teams would be doing their home work on how to beat them and they could cop injuries to key players

I’m pleasantly relieved that we don’t seem to be featuring in the trades mentioned up to now. After last year’s acquisitions, I’m reluctant to see us going all in on anything other than bonafide A graders. I’d rather improve our draft hand and go all in on a rebuild.

When did this become the hawks tug fest thread?

Guess they are the destination club of the day

Smart by St.Kilda. Force that first round compo.

Pick 10 with a percentage of 93.5… FML.
